Good Quality High Hat

I have had this hi-hat now for well over a year and have had no problems with it all. Straight forward to install and use on my DT400K Yamaha drum kit.

Call me crazy...

But I bought it for my DTX-400 and even despite the fact that it's working as a single zone pad I absolutely love it. I've tried them all, KU100, HH65 and now RHH135. It is expensive but definitely worth it. Finally a reliable, predictable hi-hat.

Pros: It works. It's strong and together with Millenium HH-902 can be used for self-defence.

Cons:

None.

A good as it gets

Top quality as one would expect from Yamaha. I suppose this is as good as an electronic hihat can get for now...

Overall a good hi-hat.

Pros: On the whole I think this is a great product for the price. It is very well made and feels fairly realistic to play. It's close enough to a real hi-hat that there isn't a huge disconnect for me between this and my acoustic hi hats and works well on my practice/digital kit. It also triggers accurately, at least for me, and I've had no problems in that regard. It was pretty much a painless 'plug and play' experience to set up as well.

Cons: My biggest complaint is that I find the pad relatively loud compared to the rest of my kit and pads. It's not *very* loud, but I'm trying to aim for the quietest kit possible to keep my wife and neighbours happy. This pad's volume certainly isn't a deal breaker, but it is louder than I thought it would be. Also, I find the pad a bit too light and easy to move when using my feet. Again, it's not a dealbreaker for me although I find I have to adjust my technique quite a bit when going back to an acoustic kit.

Overall, this is a great hi-hat for the price and I'd happily recommend it!

Great!

Easy to set up - be sure to adjust the hi- hat pedal movement to the sensitivity that you feel best with. Once this is done it plays very well with good response.

Yamaha v Roland

The price of a similar item fom Roland is prohibitive when compared to this HH Cymbal. This pad is so easy to install and adjust and it gives all the necessary sounds . Generally Yamaha stuff is so much better value than Roland and I can't stress that enough !!
