Straight to the point - Value for money!

Pros:

+Nice white lacquer, really looks proffessional.

+Nice bearingedges, easy to tune.

+Lots of add-on options for a good price.

+Thicker shells, meatier body.

+2 badges per tom.

+Amazing snare, great snare strainer, easy to tune.

+ Yess mount.

+ Great beefy bassdrumslegs.

+ Overall awesome hardware.

+Great sound when you have upgraded heads and hoops.

Cons:

- No longer fully lacquered bassdrumhoops, such a downgrade.

- Roughly sanded, not very smooth to the touch at all.

- VERY crooked washers on the ventscrews on most drums, if not all.

- The drumheads are horrible, but you know that before buying.

- 1.6mm hoops, not the best for low tunings and they don't keep the tuning good at all.

These where A LOT cheaper before, even though the price has increased so much they are still worth the money today.

Great value for the price

I needed more toms for my cover band and this was great because separate toms are cheap and available. I was kind of hesitant to buy a cheaper set as I have mainly been playing premium sets in the past (Recording custom, DW collectors) but saw all the reviews and went for it. I like that the toms are not as deep as others. Great when hanging over a 22" bass drum. Choice was between this, a PDP set and a Mapex. Thought I couldn't go wrong with this and I really like the Yamaha hardware. One minus is the bass drum is only 8 lug instead of 10. Makes it look a little cheap. Sound is great and I don't regret this purchase one bit

Unbeatable at this pieve range (and more)

Yamaha is known for their no bells and whistle approach to gear, and this kit is no exception. While you might say this kit lacks in "character", it is certainly an extremely reliable and versatile set of drums. The toms sing, the bass drum provides tons of low end and attack and the snare can cover a lot of ground in terms of music styles, which is a nice surprise.

The finish is extremely well made and looks great on stage. Nobody will notice that this is a relatively inexpensive drumset.

All in all I highly recommend this kit to anyone, from beginner to pros.
