Best choice in its price category
TLDR:
This violin worths every cent you pay for. Very good sound and looks beautiful and great handling.
Long Version:
I was looking for the best violin for sub 2000¤ category. I have been to a few music shops and local luthiers where I tried a few violins.
Out of all of them, this Yamaha violin worked better for me...it even sounded better and handled easier than one violin that I tried (priced at the 3k range).
This violin sounds beautiful. It is a huge upgrade to my first violin and makes me to practice more just for the nice sound of it.
It is very light thanks to boxwood accessories and the oil varnish looks beautiful and shiny.
Just a side note: because of storage time...I think the dominant strings that were on the violin by factory had lost their tone...I changed the string with VISION series and it sounded even better.
The only issue is on the G string if you go any position higher than 7th it sounds a bit dull...but this might be because this is a new violin and it needs time to settle down...or maybe I lack the technique to play in that registers...but the lower positions on G string and all other positions on D, A and E string are heavenlike to my ears...
Anyway... a great instrument for the money you pay.
