Bought this as a gift to myself after growing tired of my G-maple SLP and what an upgrade it was. Seamless acrylic shell with a soft 45 degree lightly rounded bearing edge, Smokey black nickel hardware, high mass die cast hoops - the heaviest I’ve played by a long shot! - and even some newer features like the thumb-press snare strainer. This thing sounds light years better than any wooden snare I’ve played. The shell depth adds a real power behind rim shots at medium- high tuning with unparalleled attack and cut. For some softer dynamics I could see this being a touch invasive, luckily the tuning range is quite versatile - though to my ears it didn’t sound best at low tunings. The colour and the look are incredible. A snare that makes you feel dw quality. Its appearance differs according to the light. The only thing I don't like is that the bolts holding the logos are a little long. But this is a very small detail, a perfect drum in its entirety.

I was hesitant to buy this but once I did, no regrets! The fun is in the possibility of different tuning according to your needs. It's nice and heavy and feels good when on a stand, the best thing is it comes with a clamp that is of great quality so it's playable out of the box. Great second snare or if you need a simple portable snare

I got this one when I was looking for a pancake size drums (3-4" depth max). I do not use it as an acoustic drum and only hit it a few times so cannot comment on the sound. Instead I put a mesh head on it with rim rubber wrap around the hoop and use it with Sensory Percussions sensors. The enclosed tom holder from Tama is perfect, very sturdy and high quality.

I got this one when I was looking for a pancake size drums (3-4" depth max). I do not use it as an acoustic drum and only hit it a few times so cannot comment on the sound. Instead I put a mesh head on it with rim rubber wrap around the hoop and use it with Sensory Percussions sensors. For that it works brilliant, sensor captures everything spot on. Although I had to remove the snare mechanism to remove all the unwanted sounds even if snares were off. The enclosed tom holder from Tama is perfect, very sturdy and high quality.

They're fun. But realistically you can't hear them. Just too quiet compared to everything else. The mounting is good though - and the at are strainer type device is good. Pull out and twist to turn snares on or off. Fun, but maybe more of a toy than an instrument.
