Great recorder

Easy ,intuitive and friendly.

The negatives are: The knobs sometimes are spin high and the recording is ruined. There must be a lock or something. Also the battery solution is not so elegant. 4 x AA batteries is good on theory but after 10 min they are gone.

Amazing, versatile, on-the-fly friendly solution.

Regardless you have to record podcasts, film sound, or perhaps have an external audio interface to work with in your DAW and record in the studio, connected to a laptop, this is an amazing solution. I managed to use it for more than a year now and it's been a great investement.

Amazing sound quality

I absolutely recommend the Zoom H6. It is a robust, portable and easy to use sound recorder.

The most professional device for amateur filmmakers.

It is ideal for sampling or podcast recording (the default 4 inputs makes it the only needed central recording station).

The power adapter allows to be used without batteries.

Easy to use, full of features

4-6 ch recorder in your hand, really handy when you don’t have time to set up your rack

Bought it to early

Sad I had to buy it at that point in time for recording small events to share them online, now I would buy the new bigger version H8 as it has all the updated functionality and also more input.

As the black version of the H6 came out recently it would have been great they also would have updated the specs to have usb-c and so on.

The biggest disadvantage is that this can not really be used as a handheld device since casing is not sound wise disconnected from the microphone which is a bit disappointing for a device in that category

Zoom H6 nice and easy

The Zoom H6 is very easy to use and has some old analogue features that is what you want with a basic hand held recorder. If playing to a large audience, you need to get in right in the band or thereabouts but great for small band recordings, especially rehearsals when learning new tunes.
