Best Zultan 8" Raw Mini Hi-Hat Alternatives

From the Paiste Swiss Range, matching in nicely with my remaining suite of Paiste and Zultan Cymbals, they are light, responsive, with that nice trashy hashy effect. I have them mounted opposing side to my main hats on the Millenium Remote Hi-Hat Assembly, But there's more! . . . take them off the remote hat assembly and they double up as fantastic swiss splash cymbals!! You know, for when your not using remote hats or as in my case, when you use other 10 Inch Splash Cymbals on your remote hat assembly to offer a different sound effect. Love them.

I was pleasantly surprised when I unpacked these babies. Cold , hard metal, and a significant weight added to the feel of "quality". Ten inch may not be much, but they can be very loud when needed, and oh so funky when the music demands it. The sound is defined, and the chick is small but prominent. Riding the open hats has its limitations, but is still perfectly doable. The only thing I have a slight problem with is that the edges really eat sticks, as compared to other famous brand cymbals/hats I own. Depends on your playing style obviously, but should be considered. All n'all though I would buy these again in a heartbeat.

Great to be able to get a handmade product like this at an affordable price. It's got that great raw handmade Instanbul quality about them, love it. Sound is dry and crisp with nice bite of attack to really contrast well with your main hi hats. I personally use this in a lot of drum and bass and jungle beat style drumming. They work an absolute treat. I would recommend any drummer getting these if they are looking for secondary hi hats. Just a great product.
