DT-770 Pro 250 Ohm : Excellent for the price

The build quality of these are excellent, as one might expect from Beyerdynamic. The sound is also quite good, but compared to some other options out there like the Sennheiser HD600 series, these leave something to be desired when listening for pleasure. That said, these are also cheaper.

I'm also not a huge fan of the round ear cups - they're not uncomfortable in any way, but they also don't fully enclose the ear without touching, something I'd prefer. The passive sound isolation is also mediocre, I expected a bit more of a seal from closed back cans to block outside noise.

The sound is intense (which is, I believe, a Beyerdynamic hallmark) and takes some getting used to, but then again these are advertised as studio cans and are meant to be revealing and accurate more than pleasurable and they work well for that.

All in all, these are an excellent purchase and I'm happy with them, they're close to what I envisioned if not quite there. Considering the 250 ohm impedance, you probably want something with a good headphone amplifier to drive them.
