NT2-A Studio Solution Set : Fantastic

I have used this microphone to record both vocals and acoustic guitar.

The different pickup pattern settings are excellent if you want to capture more of the room and can really add character to a recording.

There are two levels of bottom end roll off on the mic which I found very useful when recording acoustic guitar as the bottom end can get a bit muddy, experimenting with placement is important here, I found that the mic is very sensitive and does exhibit the proximity effect (as with all directional mics) and so the bass roll off can help to counter that.

There's also a pad feature if you need to cut back the signal a little with a 0, 5dB and 10dB setting.

The kit has an excellent shockmount and decent quality XLR cable along with an excellent pop filter.

Tonally, of course this is subjective but I would describe the mic as mostly neutral with a slight edge toward the warmer bassier side.
