Beta 91A : Great mic, great price
I purchased this Beta 91 to be the kick in mic on my band's kit (to use with a 52a). It sounds great. It gives a defined, punchy sound. There is a switchable EQ filter on the base which gives a cut around 400hz I believe, to remove any 'boxiness' to the sound. Leaving this out you have a more linear EQ. Response otherwise is 20-20k.
Sturdy and heavy, this mic feels very well built. It has a rubber base to help keep it stable and reduce vibration. It also has a proper XLR connector in the body - no mini XLR or other flimsy connectors, which is great.
