Beta 91A : Outstanding microphone

I upgraded my microphone setup for my kick drum from a PG52 to the Shure Beta 91A and I was highly impressed by the amount of low end punch this microphone delivers. Much easier to work with in a live situation and have gotten plenty of compliments from those who've listened out front to it at gigs. Even sound engineers at venues and in studios have echoed that sentiment. It just allows for a much more precise, clear, low end sound. The frequency switch on the bottom is useful to fine tune your sound.

I give it five stars as a product, but four for features because by its nature, it's tricky to place in the kick drum without it moving around. You may need to look into a mounting solution to suit your needs within the drum to avoid it sliding around or knocking over. Consideration to padding in the floor of your drum may be a good, cheap solution though to this issue. Other than that, excellent microphone and delivers an awesome sound that you crave!
