EBow Plus : a classic tool for the creative guitarist
Firstly don't expect to use this straight out of the box and be an expert. It takes time to master the technique. I managed to get some quite realistic cello arpeggios and of course the sustained howl that is typical of the ebow.
One of the things I never expected for example, is the ebow really loads the pickups so much that a clean Fender Hotrod deluxe with the guitar on 50% volume sounds like I am going through the overdrive channel. Everything has an ebow sound no matter what you do with it, which is why it sounds so similar on so many records.
Obviously this is never going to replace a plectrum, you can't play polyphonically with it - it is for single notes only, BUT if you fancy some weird synth like sounds and using the feedback switch some harmonic screams it is something you should really get.
More fun than a bag of gerbils.
