MS 3122 HDB Microphone Stand : Great features for a low mic stand

I use this for its expected application of miking kick drums but also for Foley and sound effects recording when a low height is needed. I have also used it as a table mic stand!

There is a lot that I like about this stand - the base is very heavy but this helps a lot with stability which is important as the boom arm is capable of reaching out quite far. The legs are also quite short and this helps with placement in awkward places. The main boom arm adjustment is opened and closed using a clip rather than a screw; I find this a quicker solution and it remains secure. The other screw-adjustable points on the stand use soft rubber wheels which are extremely comfortable when turning. Their screws tighten in a nicely damped fashion but they also feel totally secure.

The three feet feature funky lime green rubber rings which Gravity tell us are so that the legs are visible on stage so we don't trip over them - you can swap these with included black rings if you prefer something less conspicuous.

Cable clips are includes on both the boom arm and on one of the base legs.

A highly recommended choice for a versatile low mic stand.
