Beta 181/C : The working man's Josephson e22s

I think that shure took inspiration from the Josephson e22s to make this mic. It is sturdy, compact and side address and it can withstand high SPL. The advantages over Josephson (which is one of the preferred mics by Steve Albini) is that it costs one third of the price and that you can buy multiple capsules (Omni, Cardioid, Supercardioid and Figure of 8).

Even if it's not the quietest microphone in the world, self noise is not an issue and you can use it on a variety of instruments especially when you need good transient response. Every studio should have one.
