Bass Sweeper : Really good for those Bootsy Collins vibes

If you are looking for an inspiring sound coming out of your bass guitar and you are in the like of Bootsy Collins then you should definitely give this pedal a try.

I use it with my fender P-bass and to my Ampeg BA-210 V2 bass guitar amp. It matches really good with the LaBella 760FS Deep Talking flatwound strings that I have installed on this bass guitar. With this set-up I am very close to the James Jamerson (Motown) sound.

By adding the Mooer Bass Sweeper in the chain, I slightly shape the classic Motown sound into a more Bootsy-type sound. This way it cut's better through the mix. But be careful not to overdo it because too much envelope filter can sound annoying. Keeping the intensity knob around 9 - 10 o'clock will limit the pedal's presence in a level that is groovy and interesting enough without sounding cheesy in the mix.

I also own a EBS BassIQ envelope filter which is a more expensive and great overall bass envelope filter, and I have found that the Mooer is pretty good for what it does without breaking the bank. I would recommend it to someone who likes funky sounds.
