Ethos : The Ethos "Sounds Like Life" - I Really Like It

Earthworks has made a very impressive microphone with the Ethos. I use this for voiceover and it complements my voice much better than my SM7b did. I find that this captures a lot of detail, without being harsh at all in higher frequencies. Any voice on the Ethos is very easy to listen to. The build quality is excellent and I have no doubt this will last a lifetime. The orbit mount is also great in allowing you to position the microphone in the perfect spot. It does tighten sufficiently and everything feels solid. The Ethos is very straightforward and you know exactly what you're getting, which I like. I think it was a worthwhile investment, and I'm glad I swapped my old SM7b for this. Earthworks will also give you some free izotope plugins, as stated on their website, which I was able to claim by email after providing proof of purchase and the serial number. I think the only downside is the fact that the black version of the Ethos is much more expensive than the silver, however I do think it looks great in both colours. Overall I recommend the Ethos if you are looking for a premium quality condenser microphone.
