Very good kick drum
Sounds very good, not as expensive as some mics and doesn't look as ugly as some mics. I bought a Shure beta 52 first but it had a weird blue colour that doesn't match with black mic stands. This one still looks like a weird egg but looks a lot better. Not as important as sound of course but it matters to me.
Great on bass drum and on floor tom
This is a classic mic that among other applications it works both on kicks and floor toms. It provides a smoother frequency response than other kick drum mics without excessive coloration and this is what makes it so versatile.
There is only one downside and this is due to the xlr connector placement which, depending on your positioning, could be problematic.
All in all a great mic in an affordable price.
The only kick drum mic you'll need!
It's just the perfect mic for kick drum. Live, in the studio, it always sounds immense with a good mic placement! I also use it alot on bass cabinets. My first kick drum mic, and i will probably have it for decades because of it's sturdy built quality !
Absolute Beast
One of the best kick mics on the market. A must have for any drummer. Sounds great in or outside the kick drum. Live or in the studio it always delivers.
Coupled with a nice PA this thing really gives out what the bass drum has to offer.
Bought many years ago and it's still going strong. You will not be disappointed.
Beefy basketball kicks
People slag off the D112 for that 'basketball' sound you can get with it on kick drums but I love it - and it's optional. If you position the mic close to the beater it's just captures a good beefy representation. Great microphone. 10/10.
A timeless classic
looking for a kick mic? a bass mic? a floor tom mic? this is It fellow audio people! amazing sound, very versatile and robust as heck
Amazing performance !
I have been using this microphone for almost 2 years. This is my go to choice for bass drum microphone. Nice low end , and a well defined beater click. I rarely EQ the kick drum when i used the AKG D112.
I highly recommend this microphone!!
Works great for jazz and funk bands
The classic microphone for the centre drum. I use it mainly in the studio, sometimes at gigs. Works great for jazz and funk bands. Works well with the central drum, even when there is no hole in the membrane. It sounds good with floor tom too, I use it this way when I want to achieve a deep floor tom sound.
reliable as ever
super easy to use. plug it in and it won't fail on you.
great
this mic has the best quality for the money, very good quality and durable.
