AKG K-182 Reviews
Good value headphones
This has very good performance at the price point. Very comfortable and isolation is top notch. Because of these factors, immersion is quality. They fold up very nice too and fit in the included bag. The leather (I think) ear cups are very nice to the touch and surround the ears very well. Good product.
Good quality, however too small
I have big ears and head and unfortunately the ear cups are not big enough. Also the headphone itself it's very tight even when loosened as much as they allow
Reasonable price + acceptable sound
This headphones are quite nice for start. It can be a little hard to distinguish some of low and super high frequencies, but hopefully it can be corrected by simple EQ. The main thing will be just to make 80-250Hz lower on 2-5db. Sound isolation is good from both outside and inside. They also sit well, so I could work for 5-6 hours in row. Used it mostly for Mixing and Mastering and I know they will be better to use with E-Drum sets or to isolate vocalist from outter sounds, but still, their sound is very acceptable even for mixing. Definitely recommend if you are short in budget.
Top hi class headphones
Incredible sound great headphones overall
Good headphones for the price
I like the idea of the removable cable, so I can replace it in the future in case it fails. This is the number 1 reason to throw away a set of headphones, as they are very difficult to repair, so this is a big plus.
The foams, as you would expect with any headset, will deteriorate over time, but there are kits available to replace them. In other words, I expect my headphones to last me many years.
Very good!
Pretty flat frequency response.
Good reference headphones for monitoring, composing or mixing.
I'm no DJ so I can't say if they will be loud enough to use in a club.
They are foldable and come with a velvet bag.
Cable is detachable but is 3 meters long, so not the best for using on portable players or something like that.
You can get shorter cables for cheap on eBay though, so that's alright, but I just wish AKG would include a shorter cable in the box along with the long cable.
I wasn't expecting to like the sound of these headphones so much to be honest: I'm not the biggest fan of AKG sound signature in general.
I got them in a bundle and was planning on giving them away to someone else at first, but after trying them I honestly like them very much.
All frequencies are just right and for fun music listening, I just push the bass in the player EQ and it's a banger.
For the price, they are good reference headphones and they feel very comfortable to wear.
They are also quite small and portable too.
Good cans for DJ use
I use these headphone to DJ with, and they sound great. Much more bass than my old Pioneer ones. Comfort is also nice, no real pressure points and the padding keeps them comfortable even when only putting them over one ear.
great sound, great pair of headphones
The sound is good. nothing out of this world, but I see myself using them around the studio quite often.
since I'm a music producer, I use these because they are comfortable and they are base heavy. for producing and tracking, they are fantastic!
would not use them for mixing though.
Rather short lifespan
Bought these in Feb 2019.
On Jul 2020 I noticed that the another ear padding has been torn apart from the seam. Looks like it was not stitched but glued.
Not good rating for life expectancy obviously.
The sound quality is good, flat. Isolation too. Very comfortable.
The miniXLR connector carries BOTH right and left signals, so it isn't wired as you might expect it to be.
I cannot fully recommend these for someone who uses them daily.
Cable broke.
I can't wear them too long as my ears starts to hurt, but they are pretty good for isolation.
Mighty Decent!
I think these are made as workhorse headphones,
they sound ok, they eliminate much of the outside noise, you can wear them for hours and if you break them to the point of no repair, well, it's 88€, you can buy another pair.
The low end is surprisingly deep and not compressed so I'm hearing things a lot clearer below 60Hz, the high end is also clear yet a bit harsh, but there is a lack of 80-200Hz and at the same time the sound is a bit boxy and hollow.
Good enough for the price, the pronounced high end helps most singers when tracking but the lack of body confuses vocalists like me that have deep voices.
Also as an engineer I can't make any proper EQ decisions with them because the mids are all over the place.
Conclusion:
Good enough sound and isolation for tracking,
for mixing good enough for checking kick-bass relationship and offensive high frequencies, so I'd use them for edits before actually mixing and as another pair of headphones to check my final mix/mastering just in case.
Amazing
Perfect sound and very comfortable !
Fantastic Headphone.
I love these headphones, I've had mine for about 2 years now and use them daily and they still sound great. for the price you pay for these they are fantastic...so good in fact I've just bought another pair!
very highly recommended.
Good
Studio purposes. Good that 1/4" adaptor included, nice long wire. Clean sound. For this price one cannot complain.
An amazing difference
I use the headset as an auxiliary tool for composing and mixing music. Still, it's an amazing relief when I put this headset on my head. So far, I have used the AKG K240 MkII (much lower bass and total quieter handset), much more expensive FOCAL proffesional (cast money, no bass power, unpleasant sound that does not have much to do with the actual mix).
The most interesting thing is that the first AKG and FOCAL I was paid for more than twice at price, so I expected from the current ones average quality for so little money. I made a mistake, to my luck.
I warmly recommend these headphones for long and comfortable composing and mixing, do not be afraid of low prices, not a latch.
Some people mention that they are not isolated/closed enough, but I do not work at the factory, so they are quite isolated while some musicians are playing around me. Maybe the thing is that I'm not doing loud - metal music :)
Great pair of headset for budget needs
I got this pair or headphones for my home recording studio. I mainly use the for recording and also mixing. When recording, these headphones to not bleed into the mic, even at higher volumes, the build quality is very good and the noise canceling works great. They are very comfortable (at least on my head) and I can use them for hours straight without feeling any sort of discomfort of fatigue. The sound quality is great, you get a very balanced sound and with enough low end to satisfy your needs. It's quite a great pair of headphones for this price range. I highly recommend them!
Good noise cancelling and sound
Despite a not so comfortable design, these headphones are the right answer for those who wants to study music without all that noise surrounding you. The sound is well balanced, I use AKG K182 during my rehearsal sessions or just to listen some studio stuff and it's just the best quality/price product I've tried so far, IMHO.
Especially suggested for drummers, during studio or rehearsal sessions.
Amazing
To put it in simple words, they are amazing! Really good bass response without losing mid range and high end. Nice isolation, really good build quality, and detachable cable. Best headphones in this price range! Would recommend to anyone.
Great headphones
pros: Comfortable headphones, become with a little bag to carry around and an astonish sound quality.
cons: the noise cancellation is really good, but I can still hear some noise coming from the office.
