AKG K-361 Reviews
Porche 911 in the world of headphones?
So...in general- amazing. The way they built, mechanisms and the sound itself, everything comes in clutch for the price they go for. Very adorable headphones. Let me get more specific and start with advantages and what i like Not really important maybe, but then way these babies look oh mama mia... they are killing it. Really minimalistic colors and the design itself- AKG killed it. Now- the sound. Very decent, again. I love the lows, they do not flood your ears, which is cool. It doesnt feel overloaded on the lower frequencies, instead airy and soft. The Mid frequencies which by fact is probably most important, since daily listening with earphones, poor speakers only gives poor Frequency band and we mostly listen to Mids- so this AKG's got really great state of clarity with Middle Frequencies. Details are being heard and that's no doubt. However for a snob and music professional like me, maybe they should saturate their Hi frequencies a little more. But i cant say its something they are lacking. Nothing missing there that much, just in my opinion they could be a little bit more present and brought out-front. Generally the sound is more than pleasing. As well as the sound proof from outside is killing it. Once I'm working- I'm all in wherever I be. The noise doesn't get in. The other big win out here is the comfort. My god its like to put a pillow on your head and chillax with some great tunes in your ears. Leatherette ear cushions are the best. I dont get tired at all wearing them. My ears either. The headband is really dope as well, super soft, no pressure on your head. The foldable mechanism is nice. They actually feel a little bit fragile but I rather call this feeling flexible. The only minus I can tell, is that a little piece of plastic (0.7 mm) from one small mechanism near ear cushions detached from headphones in first days, but I assume its exceptional case. Nothing is perfect you know. But it is what it is, so 4 starts instead of 5. Big love to these still Respect for 2 cables and the headphones bag, really nice quality. I recommend this to everybody. No matter your purposes these will serve well, I'm sure of that
K 361
More neutral than my K371, especcialy in bass region more neutral but still very pleasing bass. Mid and treble are great. No harschness nor sibbilance. Great. Bass heads, get K371. Somewhat less comfortabele due to less padding on headband but still wearable for hours even beeing bold and wearing glassesð. Absolutely recommended. Construction quality ok but time will tell and ibam always very carefull with all of my equipment. I expect it will serve me for yeats to come. TIP for all headphones: I clean all my headphone pads regulzry with a lightly moist microfiber cloth and dry them with a same type dry cloth. Especially in summer. My Pads all go long time.
Hugs the lugs
Great headphones. Sound very flat in response if a little bright? Could be my ears though? Nice and light also extremely comfortable. The cables (2 of long and short) come with an insert and twist design to lock in, very clever! Come in branded pouchâ¦no case. Can hear everything clearly and they are definitely not too tonal for mixing. Recommended, especially at this price point. ð
Nice and comfy, but...
The AKG K-361 is a light and comfortable headphone set which is also sturdy enough and offers a clear and fairly well balanced sound.
The downside of it, however, are its leatherette ear cushion covers which in less than 3 months of light use started to peel off leaving the raw sponge cushion exposed and after 6 month became therefore unusable.
Disapointed with this headphones
They are confy but they feel really fragile. Personally i can't use these headphones because for me the highs are harsh.
I tried them with different devices but i really felt like the highs were unbalanced compared to mids and lows (listening to metalcore and i could hear the cymbals and snares over the vocals and the other instruments). I'm far from an audio expert and i don't think these headphones are bad but they aren't my cup of tea.
Harman tuning is no joke
Got these for the specific reason of them being the cheapest headphones tuned to the harman frequency response and i have to say i am not disappointed. I dont know if the title of ''studio headphone'' fits as the bass shelf is quite elevated but for enjoying your playlist these are amazing. Probably the best sub 100 euro headphone ive been able to find.
good quality for the money
i use it to play bass along with music, i dont think i could get any better than this for the money.
Great product.
Excellent headphones, replaceable cables, good sound. I recommend it!!!
Pretty great with a few exceptions
I bought these headphones as my old Audiotechnica M30X's broke after years of use and abuse, and I had recently bought an AKG microphone which had become my favorite, so I gave this brand a go.
I needed headphones with low impedence that I could use to listen to music on my phone aswell as in the studio to record/mix a little with.
The good:
- The sound quality is good, it doesnt distort at any volume, It has plenty of clarity up top so when you're mixing you can hear what frequencies should be cut, the mids are well defined and the bass has a thick sound to it.
- They're also perfectly comfortable, can't imagine if headphones ever get more comfy than these.
The less good:
- The soundstage is pretty narrow, it doesnt sound mono but I'd like
a bit more sepparation between the two left and right channels
- The headphones sometimes slowly slip off my head toward the back, nothing a quick adjust doesnt fix but I do feel them slowly crawling off sometimes.
Overall they sound very good and they're comfortable. I would only prefer they have a slighly flatter response.
Nice
Sound quality is great and they don't break the bank, they are comfy, i checked the reviews on youtube and liked what i saw, when i got them delivered and plugged in i was not disappointed.
You get more than what you pay for in my opinion, im very happy with these.
top value
my first decent headphones.used for guitar practice.superb also for listening to music.recommended.
my first reference headset experience , sound level is fine , but I constantly have trouble with the cable !
Coming 2 cables, I use the long cable and it keeps spinning inside the cable and it annoys me , I have to remove the cable from the headphones and get it back to normal..
One of my favorite features is that the cable can be removed. was one of my purposes to buy
I recommend it for its really good price pay attention to your cable!
Good product.
These are seriously comfortable and sound great
Great Studio Headphones
I used the AKG K-240 for years for recording and mixing. I got the K-361 as an upgrade as well as I was in need of a second pair of headphones. Besides the much more sturdy construction, the K-361 is definitely an upgrade in terms of sound as well as handling.
Due to the oval shape of the phones, the headphones are very comfortable to wear during long hours of recording and mixing. The sound is very well defined and precise, the stereo spectrum is represented well. A big plus is the foldable construction which allows to transport the headphones effordlessly in the protective bag which comes with them.
I can see the K-361 becoming a new budget standard for studios and recording artists.
Very comfortable and light-weight
Very nice earphones for the price. Fit is great and sound quality is amazing.
Great, lightweight headphones. Excellent for tracking.
Bought these for tracking. The diffuse field equalization is great. The soundstage is wide enough (although not as wide as in the DT-770s or AKG-240 DFs). The isolation is decent and the headphones feel comfortable.
The pivoting ear cups is a neat feature that allows a musician to rotate it if he wants to listen to what his colleagues have to say without taking the headphones off.
These are a little more sensitive to proper positioning on your head and take some getting used to.
A little creaky while handling.
