Decent, not brilliant

I bought these for my son last Christmas. They’re pretty good…and fine for a beginner…but the sounds are a little artificial, the components not particularly robust and they are a little awkward to play. For the price, they’re great but if you’re thinking long term, perhaps look elsewhere

Great E-Drum set for beginners!

I play drums for years and have been using an Alesis DM10 Studio Mesh Kit. I am very happy with Alesis products in general and this kit that I wanted during my time in Germany was great and up to my expectations. The only problem was that the pedals' sensitivity was not that good (expected for this entry line) but rather than that, I was happy with them for the time that I had them! Recommended for beginners!

Brilliant kit!

We bought this as a starter kit for our 10yr old son, however, the word starter is irrelevant! This is a brilliant piece of kit for persons of all ages and abilities, it sounds great, is easy to set up and adjust, and is of a very high quality build. Our son is now on his grade 4 and this kit is not letting him down…

Are you a beginner house drummer?

If yes, you probably care more about easy of setting up, playability and noise problem rather than how many different type of sounds you can get out of your drum set...etc This set is obviously one of the cheapest ways you can begin your drumming journey, and as far as I can experience, it just provides that.

- It doesn't feel very durable & stable, but it also does not feel badly built.

- It's easy to setup, no worries.

- It doesn't have the best drum machine with a lot of options, but it comes with a free Melodics training app, and with a simple USB cable you can plug this into your PC to start learning and get OK sound quality for an entry level instrument. Response lag is also surprisingly low

- It's not very quiet, but I'm starting to understand a quiet drum is not entirely possible anyway. Mesh heads are OK, and it doesn't have and actual kick pedal, which helps with noise reduction. Only thing that's missing is rubber rims, and you need these because the mesh heads are small in diameter, and it's easy to hit the rims (which is loud). You can buy these extra for 20 euros afterwards, if you feel the need.

Overall, this purchase met my expectations with good value/price ratio, and hope this helps future beginners here.

Good kit for beginner BUT...

Mesh pads feel nice and quiet.

The pedals are playable for beginners but it is hard for me to do the heel-toe technique with these pair of pedals since there is no recoil and so you need to put a lot more force to hit the second successive kick.

The pad is rather small and you accidentally hit the rim from time to time which is a LOT louder than hitting the mesh or the rubber pad and be careful! this kit does not include the rubber rim which is also not explicitly mention (You probably have to compare the pictures of Alesis Nitro and Alesis Turbo to see the missing rubber rim)

The included sound is not so bad but the hihat sounds significantly quieter than another part and you have to way of fixing this quiet hihat problem.

You can plug in the audio input and play along with the song BUT I could hear the cracking noise from the drum sound from time to time (like if you play the snare at the same time as the kick). This is too annoying for me so I rarely use the built-in sound system but rather play with the DAW on my PC.

For the price, it is quite nice but I would recommend going for the Alesis Nitro Mesh kit instead. You get better pads with rubber rims and the actual kick tower which should feel better than this pedal.

Very impressed!

I was very impressed when it came in. It plays great with headphones and has quite a lot of features for a electric drum kit of this price. Sound is very good though depending on your headphones, it might have a light buzz. I tested it with 2, and generally the higher quality one had near unnoticeable buzz while the lower quality one has a bit more. Quality is great, mostly metal and feels wonderful, no moving of the symbols or toms when you hit them! Overall, would definitely recommend for new and intermediate drum players that don’t need too many bits to play on.

Good for silent home practice

Quality is very good, everything works fine.

Even the sticks are very good and suited more for this kit than my B5 Tama sticks.

I do not use the pedals(and was not going to use them). Instead I use a real kick pedal with a custom IR electronic switch made by me, which is connected to the KICK input - a fast and silent solution.

Very good first kit

Bought it for my 4 years old boy, without any expectations. I ended up playing myself more than him. Very good first kit, many sounds, possibility to plug your phone to play along, I don't need anything else.

Not an expert, but there are some cons

I'm starting with drums, it's my first one and I'm using it for one week now.

Pros:

- Cheap comparing to other electronic drums

- Easy to install and to start with, 1 hour and I was ready to play

Cons:

- I think that the pedals are not sensitive enough, I mean sometimes I have to press the pedals hard to get the sound. But as I said, I'm new, maybe I'm not used to use my feet and the problem will disappear with practice

- The kits : There are 10, and I think that there are 3, maybe 4 useful kits, there rest have bad sounds at my opinion

A quality set for the starting drummer

Bought this for my kid. It is a solid set with really nice sounds - specially if you are starting to learn the drums.

From what I've seen so far, I will be able to upgrade components if I feel the need for it.

Decent starter kit, use external sound module.

The good:

+ Mesh pads feel great, good velocity range

+ Price

+ Sturdy, can stand a nice beating

+ Cymbals and hi-hat pads get the work done, decent velocity range

The bad:

- Built-in sounds are okay at best, terrible at worst

- Kick drum and hi-hat pedal feel very cheap, no velocity, feels very "floppy"

All in all pretty decent to start drumming. I use my laptop as an external sound module, and after a few months bought an external mesh head kick drum pad and pedal which made all the difference.

Thank you!

1. Wonderful! I am very pleased with the tool and fast delivery!

2. Reset to factory settings, if anyone needs to - click minus and plus together and turn on the drum module.

3. When the euphoria let me go a little, I had to look for a solution to quiet plates on the forum, namely to disassemble hi hat crash ride cymbal and solder 4.7 kOhm resistors.
