This mixer is hot!

It literally gets hot after some hours of use, if I still had a cat it would be really hard to keep her off the mixer! (It also smells great when it warms up ;)

Lots of connections (mixer is actually 8 channels if you use all aux inputs!), usb connections works great (no drivers required on mac) and actually allow the mixer to be used in studio context for true analog summing.

Master send return allows the RMX 1000 to be used, unlike the regular send return channels that require no latency fx or they introduce phasing.

Beast of a mixer

Quite simply the best mixer I have ever owned. This thing is flawless I've had it for 2 months now I use return analogue pedals drum machines samplers and DAW (ableton) through it without skipping a beat. Pound for pound king. I don't have anything bad to say about this mixer in my opinion its flawless

Is there anything more to say

Xone has absolutely nailed it. They brought the 92 into the digital age, without losing the analog soul that made it legendary. Every detail on the 96 was painstakingly looked at, and it truly shows. This mixer is just at home in the studio as it is in the booth, and can handle whatever live setup you have going on.

Excellent and Gorgeous

Feels and sounds better than my 92, pretty hefty unit. Enjoying the expanded return channels, crunch helps getting more creative with mixing. For example filtering the incoming track to just the hats and crunching them hard makes for a good time. I'm glad i upgraded.

Perfect combination of analog and digital.

This is by far my favourite mixer. The filters are the best out there and the options this device provides for hybrid setups are countless. I waited a few months before offering my feedback to make sure no surprises occur and i can happily recommend this to anyone looking a 4 channel mixer and beyond. No heat issues, all knobs feel like butter and internal recording with internal soundcard is easy as pie.

Currently using it with 2 Traktor decks controlled by 2 X1s, 2 turntables, 1 Ableton Push and 1 Eventide pedal for fx1&2.

completely terrible experience

they sold a defective mixer, would not issue refund, and, after sending the mixer back for service it was returned with the same defects, dirty, and arrived after 2 months. i've even explicitly requested they test the mixer before sending it back. absolute garbage customer service.

Solid Choice

This mixer can handle a small project studio as easily as it can 6 channels of DJ gear with two effects boxes - just use sends 1-2 and returns 3-4. I recently played on the Xone92 at a gig and the only difference is the extras you get minus the two LFO that I wasn"t using anyways.

For me this has two XDJs and three Elektron Boxes plus a prophet 12 with a big sky and x4 delay on the sends. Still saving up for outboard gear for the master send/return. Comparing to the Pioneer at the same price you exchanged sync"d effects for a ton of flexibility.

Almost fantastic

This thing is made for techno and It is very clear that the developers thought of a lot of intricate little details in the developing process. For example the outstanding monitoring options, the cueing for two dj's at the same time, the fact that you can plug in both an 1/4" and an 1/8" headphones jack.

The spacing between the knobs is great, which makes the mixer a bit longer than a 9.

The filters sound great and the clicking sound of enabling the filters is gone, the 92 and 4D both had an issue with this.

The flexibility and user friendliness of the dual sound card is top notch. I just wish that they would have made a configuration option to enable software outs linked directly to returns C&D.

The cross fader is ace as well, it's perfect for scratching and turntablism. The build quality is very good. It feels solid and the knobs and faders all feel very sturdy. The inside is completely packed with pcb's; you need to open up the mixer for calibrating the crossfader which could have been solved in a more user friendly way. The proprietary X-link protocol which Allen & Heath uses works great, I just wish they also would have included two regular USB ports on the mixer so the connection from the 96 to the computer could have been handled with a single usb cable. All in all, almost a fantastic mixer, it sure comes close.

High quality and reasonable price

If you look at the soundcard and mixer console separately, you will find this mixer console very affordable.

House DJ and Techno DJ's favorite mixer.

The sound is warmer than xone92, more resistant, my opinion.

Superb sound .. Top mixer for Techno!

I have used this mixer on good speakers and I must say that the Xone:96 is by far the best mixer I have experienced.

Well worth the price, the Xone:96 should keep me happy for another 15 years.

To the Future

I love this upgrade from the Xone: 92.

It's all in there what you need as DJ especially for electronic music. It takes mixing to a new level.

Perfect integration of all sources of DJ technology.
