Made a huge difference to the sound of my setup

My setup was the pf-800 amp with the 2x10 pf cabinet. Which was fine, but lacking in sub frequencies for sure. Also, because the speaker is an 8ohm speaker, I was not using the full headroom on the amp. Adding this pf-115LF made a major difference in the sound: Not only the headroom was greatly improved (a bit louder, but not that much, as you may know by the power/db equation), but the overall output EQ is a much more professional and powerful one, because all those sub frequencies are there now. This doesn't mean that the speaker only puts out subs. It is actually quite well balanced, and, as a ampeg should be, very powerful in the mids. I would advise this speaker to anyone using the portaflex series, and if not for the fact that it doesn't have a lid, I would be using it when I only need one speaker.

Great buy. Can't beat it for the price, that's for sure.

Sealed cab

This cabinet is great for bass. Nice lows and very thick.

Was taking a risk, but panned out well!!

Initially with the price being too good to be true, I went ahead and bought 2 of these cabs to go with my TC Electronics RH750 Head as an upgrade from the TC Classic 450 rid with the RS Cabs. Previous setup was great, just not enough headroom for some situations and a change was in order. The RH heads sound great to my ears so just went with more power. Went with these cabs because of the aesthetic for 1, they look great! I dig that old school vibe, and love the sound of the 15's without tweeter. These cabs still have detail even though they don't have the tweeter, more than enough to cope with a variety of styles maybe barre slapping where the high end Marcus Miller sizzle is required (still sounds fine slapped though!).

Plenty of bottom here but defined and controllable. good well balanced tone really throughout the range of sounds put through them. These are light which is amazing for ceramic drivers, but feel sturdy (not cheap). Shape is a little awkward through doorways, but worth it! Casters are a nice touch I just use on on bottom cam to transport both cabs about as one unit where possible.

If you want a big bass sound and have a decent head to put through these cabs you would not go far wrong buying these. On there own I found them to fart out a little easier than I would like, but at 4ohms with both cabs they take alot of power very well.

Fat

This things has a great fat, full sound and plenty of power. Surprisingly, it also handles the top end rather well so playing slap doesn't sound too bad even without a tweeter.

The only downside is that when holding the speaker by one handle it doesn't hang straight, making it hard to get through doors.
