Great when it is set

Hey, first bass overdrive I used. Take some time to find the right sound/setting but once done it is really great. Plugged with a Fender rumble 200 head, the Scrambler gives a lot of possibility of clear, punch, rock, even some acoustic tones.

Ampeg Sound

I introduce myself first:

I'm an Ampeg guy: I owned ampeg products from SVT2-PRO to 410HLF cabs. This Pedal is good to add some "Ampegness" to your sound. It's not a very powerful overdrive, however you can definitely get a strong overdrive. But what it does for me is giving me the grit of a almost-saturated final stage, without using a tube amp. I am currently using it with the Ampeg Micro VR, and I got to say, together they really rock. You get the tube warmth and harmonics without having a tube amp.

I think for the money, it is a very good value pedal.

Only cons:

- I don't like the volume knob, it's a pain to setup and change all the time

- You don't get a super-powerful distortion, but again, it is not what it's made for.

Overall , very happy

Bass overdrive

I got this pedal for rehearshals and of course gigs which require that kind of sound. I didn't want to pay a fortune, so that pedal was a solid option. First of all, I have to say that the finish and the design on this pedal is amazing. The knobs feel incredible and they are easy to handle. On the other hand I am a bit disappointed by the fact that it has a volume knob which can actually be annoying if you haven't set up the pedal before the gig, because it can increase the volume of the overall set-up massively and cause feedback. I found out that it hasn't have that much of a response at high volume and the overdriven signal can get lost. In general, the pedal is a solid option to experiment as it features a large amount of options to play with, from light overdrive to distortion, with the second one requiring a more heavy approach on the string plucking to get the rasp
