Sounds good

Big loud sound, especially when connected to 4x10 and larger cabs. I like the sound, lots of low end, some distortion from the preamp tubes can also be heard if gain is set close to full. Probably louder than you will ever need unless playing in large open spaces.

Did not face any of the reported quality issues yet after 3 years of use, although I usually don't go above 4 or 5 with gain at full.

Arrived already defect!

When the amp arrived it was already defect and didnt work- seems like the Tube was already gone- therefore can only give this 1 star!

value and quality, that respects Ampeg's sound

USE: live shows, studio recording.

PROS: competent and clear controls, powerful, light and portable. quality build, sensible overall product. Sounds amazing at loud and soft volumes. Not as rich as my SVT 3 Pro, but close enough.

CONS: blew a 400 watt @ 8 ohm woofer when paired with 550 watt @ 8 ohm cab. Technically this should have been okay to run these cabs together, but the woofer just couldn't handle the power. Don't really think it is Ampeg's fault. This just has a lot of power.

Great high end amp for little money

Through searching for a new bass amp I encountered the SVT 7 Pro. After testing many differnt amps in the same price area, e.g. SVT 3 Pro, some Gallien Krueger and Markbass amps, I decided to take the SVT 7 Pro because I liked it best.

Meanwhile I used it for serveral goals from playing gigs with a coverrock band and a jazz big band to recording an album with a mixture of indie and hiphop. The 7 pro did well in every situation.

The amp has got all mandatory features like a 3-band eq, a recording out and a -15dB switch for basses with a high output. Furthermore there are some nice features like the Ultra Low Button, that accents the low ends und some high frequenzes that gets the sound, in my opinion more modern, an effectloop, typical Ampeg mid frequenz switch, Poweramp in/Preamp Out, Compressor and so on.

All in all the SVT 7 Pro is a great amp that fits almost every situation and simply sounds great.
