This is always a more personal opinion. They sound better than standard white strings, with a little more harmonics (richer sound).

It is not miraculous.

Good strings!

More trebly than the regular «rubber band» strings. More sustain.

Does not work on the Harley Benton ukulele bass, as it looses intonation with these strings. Probably very good on othere ukulele basses!

Aquila Thunder Reds

The Aquila Thunder Red strings have a grainy sound on my Hutch Hutchinson Kala U-Bass. I prefer the Aquila Thundregut but they lack definition on the E string. I changed it for an Aquila Thunder Red that makes the job.

a definit upgrade from the standard strings

I already have the Aquila red on my tenor ukulele and they are the best in my opinion which led me to try these ones. the standard "Pahoehoe" were on the bass for quite some time now and started to sound noisy and had a lot of buzz while playing. the minute I put the Aquila reds the sound totally changed i will describe it as less floppy w very good definition of highs and lows specially on A D G strings , no fret buzz whatsoever, and the strings tension are just right , they feel a lot different from the rubber strings as well.the only con I would have is that its a little bit rough when doing slides , manageable though.
