Good eurorack case - very good value for money
I now have 4 of these cases. Like them quite a bit. They look nice, are made out of good quality materials (box itself is made of aluminium, side panels of wood, stand/bracket is made of cast aluminium). M3 mounts is of the sliding rail type (much prefer this over the sliding nut type).
Two aspects that could be better:
#1 5HP power unit. This is an odd number and to fill up the rack row with the power - you will need module with an odd number (3 or 5 typically). Not a big deal but an "integrated" power would avoid this and give the user 5 more HP for modules.
Some have reported noise bleeding through from the PSU. I have had no such problems with any of my 4 units.
#2 The bracket/stand. It looks like it would be easy to "clamp down" the red wingnuts you see in the picture to make the stand sit at an angle. However, they have designed it so that it will not. There is no "ratcheting" mechanism or enough friction in the joint for this to happen. So, if you want it at any other angle than "mostly upright" or "flat on the table" you will need to prop it up - or risk the rack falling over!
Not only for beginners but also not perfect
Case looks great and the idea is super.
The connection design is quite good but something not advertised is that you will be connecting and disconnecting the metal stand often if you want to change to some of the configurations - including the reclined desk setup that requires you to actually flip the case and remount all of your modules upside down..so pretty much not doable if you want to use the other standing configs.
More annoying is the power module that takes up an odd 5HP, the power module connection cable takes up a lot of space next to the module so only very shallow modules can be mounted to the right of it, moving the power module to another part of the case or row is impossible without different cables (not supplied) and the metal stand connectors have large metal nuts inside the case that protrude into even 40mm deep modules, so again, only shallow modules on the sides of that row.
price however is not astronomical and you will find some silly powermodules that cost even more, so this is a great deal in our scene currently - plus you can always modify the case!
