Pros: On the whole I think this is a great product for the price. It is very well made and feels fairly realistic to play. It's close enough to a real hi-hat that there isn't a huge disconnect for me between this and my acoustic hi hats and works well on my practice/digital kit. It also triggers accurately, at least for me, and I've had no problems in that regard. It was pretty much a painless 'plug and play' experience to set up as well. Cons: My biggest complaint is that I find the pad relatively loud compared to the rest of my kit and pads. It's not *very* loud, but I'm trying to aim for the quietest kit possible to keep my wife and neighbours happy. This pad's volume certainly isn't a deal breaker, but it is louder than I thought it would be. Also, I find the pad a bit too...

Sadly my hi hat on my Alesis DM10X gave in. It was just a single zone pad with only the foot pedal as a controller. After looking extensively for Alesis Hi Hat Pro X I could not find one stocked anywhere as it's not manufactured anymore. I decided to give MPS 850 hi hat a try not knowing whether the Alesis module would work with it. No issues whatsoever! Straight up pug and play. I put the hi hat together with the Millenium 901 stand and the hi hat controller I also ordered and it just works. Absolutely no issues and the module works with it and recognises everything and anything from fully closed to fully open with everything in between. Very impressed!

Roland FD-9 Hi-Hat Controller Pedal

I bought it to replace the basic HH pedal that came with my son's entry-level TD-1KV kit (in addition to a KT-9 to replace the kick pedal). I originally considered an upgrade with the cheaper FD-8, but once I realized that it uses the same rubber mechanism than the one I had already, I felt there was no point. I'm not quite sure what mechanism the FD-9 uses, but the difference in playability is massive. It is super quiet, and with great responsiveness. I can play heel up or down without problems. It's extremely robust as well (metal, with solid plastic on top), so I'm sure it will last long. I removed one of the two lateral springs to make the action slightly softer. Great product!

After buying the Roland TD4KX kit 5 years ago the cymbals finally gave in and broke. So I ordered a new set and couldn't be happier with how they work for my specific needs. I use them in conjunction with the Superior Drummer software for recording bands and artists and they do the job perfectly. Very hard wearing pads and the cymbal easily corresponds with Superiors Hi Hat settings. Working in a home studio means an acoustic drum kit isn't an option but with the purchase or these cymbals it makes it possible for me to make productions that sound great and keep the drummer happy as he/she isn't playing their own acoustic kit! 5 Stars!

You guys are awesome. I bought this Hi-Hat Pad as an experiment to see if my non-Millennium drum kit could be retrofitted with a real feeling Hi-Hat pad, just as I did with the Kick pad that I purchased a little over a month ago. Not only did this pad exceed my expectations in quality, it is working almost flawlessly with my drum module. Some of this may be due to just needing more tweaking in regards to getting the pad to bark more consistently, or adjusting my playing style. I have had to adjust my volume on the module some, in order to match the rest of my kit, hence the slightly lower score on noise emission. I’m sure that I could have spent well over twice as much for a pad alone not including the stand that comes with it. I am also impressed with the speed of delivery, from...
