Audio-Technica AT897
Shotgun Microphone

Never again!
This is my second microphone from AT. My first mic was a AT875R, a very nice camera mic. Then I was in need for a "better" microphone and I trusted the AT897. The quality was poor, the out put is way lower than its predesesor and it delivered a noisy sound which I always have to get rid off in the post. Sure you will find a better option on the same price range.
Good shotgun mic for media and film sounds. Not too long, so it can fit in smaller bags too.
Great microphone with a premium feel
I use this microphone for outdoor efp's and I'm very happy with the results I'm getting.
Pros
- Clear sound
- Premium feel
- Good sound cancellation
- Very reasonable price for the microphone
- Compact
Cons
- Pretty high sound floor
I would recommend this microphone to anyone who is on a budget and want a semi-professional microphone that sounds good in most conditions.
