A shot in the dark

I had never used Augustine strings before, and I had never had a 3/4 classic guitar (which I intend to use as a travel guitar). The guitar is a 2nd hand LAG Occitania which had a broken brace. I repaired it, the guitar is great. I had a set of cheap strings, and upon trying the guitar, I knew it deserved something better. The Augustines make it sound great, more bottom than I had expected, and a very balanced sound altogether. Maybe I will try other string gauges in the future. Note that I have been playing for nearly 50 years, and I have had my share of string/guitar pairings.

A safe bet

You cannot make a mistake with these. They have powerfull basses, clear highs and are affordable.

ok

This strings are very good for the money. Though not my favorite... but still not a bad choice when you are on a budget.

Good set of strings

This was the first time i bought the Augustine classic gold.

I am pleased with them, as a teacher i use my guitar everyday, so, i play them quite a lot.

Sound:

They have a good sound, one thing i noticed was that they gave my guitar a more bright sound wich was not bad because it had a more dark sound before, so i guess this strings made my guitar more balanced.

Durability:

Made the purchase some months ago, they still play good to this day, and i guess they have some more miles to do, so, i guess they have a good durability.

These are not the best strings i've bought but definitely not the worst, on the contrary. they are a good mid range strings.

Very good strings!

I used the Augustine Classic Gold stings for the first time on my Alhambra classical guitar and even though I am not excited I had a good time while playing with them. I will not be using them again but that is because they do not fit my personal style (I found them a bit to bright) - otherwhise these strings are worth their price.

Augustine Classic Gold Standard

for the cost, these are great value. they last a long time and have a very professional tone (at least on my guitar). I couldn't believe how much different a spanish/classical guitar could sound after switching to these!
