Excellent reference speaker!

I'm using this cube for critical listening in mono and it saves a lot of tracks. Very beneficial for home studio as well as for professional studios could be considered.

Brilliant - improves my mixes

It’s basically the old Auratone and fits the same job. I use one for mono mixing checking and it really helps my mixes.

Someone once described Avantone MixCubes as the best bad speaker in the world. It took getting one to know what they meant. When I say they sound bad, that's not what I mean. What I mean is that they're really great at exposing all of the flaws in your mix, especially in the mids. It saved a bunch of bouncing mixes to listen through phones and cars and all the usual places. It's worth the money for the time saved alone. I can instantly reference a mix knowing I have a really flat speaker representative of many different real-world listening experiences, and can make educated mix decisions mid-production. I mix better because of it, and there are not too many tools that you can confidently say that about.

I only own it for few months and it has improved my mixes considerably. I'm not very experienced in mixing, not that great also. But it helped my mixes, and even more it helped my skill. It will draw your attention to things you wouldn't notice.

It's been said before in the reviews and I second that a single driver monitor is vital to deliver great mixes with consistency. No crossover, no bass. You can critically listen and make decisions with safety for vocals, cymbals, lead parts etc. You can also listen to the balance of your mix. You should be able to hear the bass elements if the mix is good. If not there will be problems. If the mix sounds good in the single mixcube (mono), it will translate well enough even in laptops and mobile phones. It will also help you very very much to reference your mix with other mixes. It will make your mixes and your skills better as well.

MixCube is perfect for that job. Great quality, great clarity in the mid upper range. It's a great tool. It's not meant to be used for pleasure, or as main monitors.

I use it to check my mixes in mono , I like it.

the only annoying thing is the external adapter , I wish that the company find a way to put it inside the speaker.

If your mix sounds good on this, will sound good everywhere

I use this to check my mixes and 98% of times they are really the key to a good mix!

Sometimes my mix sounds amazing on my monitors but then I play the song through this Mixcube (always check in MONO!) and most of the times I can detect some problems that otherwise would be hard to hear on normal studio monitors.

Fantastic mixing tool

I was a bit sceptical about MixCubes and similar tool, but after working for a while on a single MixCube it completely transformed my mixing. It makes balance and EQ decisions so much easier than when working on full range monitors. While I start and finish my mixes on my main monitors (and check on headphones for clicks etc.), I now probably spend 75% of my mixing time working in mono on a single MixCube. Built and sound quality is absolutely great. Highly recommended.

Great monitor

Its really easy and fast to balance and clear up mid frequencies of the mix with this speker.

Great Midrange and emotion focus

Beside their known characteristics, I find this as a great creative tool. When you-re not concentrate about bass, air, image, you tend to focus more on the lead elements and their emotions. So this is good as a mix tool, but also as a creative boost.

Must have for professional mixing

Perfect in its inperfection. Whipes a smile out of your face instantly after switching on. Shows many weak points of mixes easily.

Extremely valuable tool!

You'll love it so much, you'll generally stop listening to your other monitors. Let's face it, general population does not listen to your works on HiFi equipment. They use their phones, tablets, laptops, TVs. And their built-in, tiny speakers. What's the use in tweaking th extreme lows and highs, when your regular Joe Schmoe cannot even hear them? Pump your mix through one of these. If it sounds good, it will sound good everywhere. Quincy Jones used these boxes to produce Michael Jackson recordings, so take the hint.

My sincerest friend

That little, very good looking dude with the "ugly voice" speaks me always with truth.

This speaker sounds really bad, but that's what's intended to do. If you can make your mix sound nice getting out of that speaker you know that your mix can be delivered properly from the worst monophonic scenario. And that's just the case.

Beside the fact that it does it's job really great, I like also it's building quality, it's appearence and all these fine small details that compose it.

Exactly what its designed for

A great addition to a full range monitor, allows excellent focus on the midrange (arguably the most important range in the freq. spectrum) and is perfect for setting the correct level of the vocals in a mix. I used it straight away to automate a vocal in a mix and it just works.

Good sound modern Auratone

Nice sounding modern take on the classic Auratone, these are good because for modern production you need something with a bit more 'size' and these have that.

Every studio needs an Avantone type speaker !

Quality unported reference speaker

I bought this as a mono speaker for checking mixes in mono and tweaking the mid-range. I've found it very helpful for both tasks. It's much louder than expected. PSU attaches using a strong crew connection which more equipment should do in my opinion! The sound quality seemed to improve after playing it loudly for a while. Good little unported reference speaker. Unfortunately I can't compare it to the passive version or a 5c sound cube but it seems to do the same job very well.
