6-voice compact analog synth with onboard effects for good price

it's not vst or va - it sounds like a real analog instrument, which it is. Some would say it can't be compared to such synths like Juno 106 or Prophet 6 but paired with any hardware compressor it will sound as good if not even richer.

Can't say it's an all-round instrument, however it works perfectly for massive ambient textures and lushes pads as well as real nice arpeggios. As a negative side i would highlight the lack of lead and bass sounds, those aren't as aggressive and deep as you would expect for modern music genres.

But creating post-rock, ambient, dream-pop music etc this synth works perfectly. It has everything to recreate 80s analog synths and so much more.

It has perfect ergonomics - most of the controllers are located on the front, very neat keys (though i'm not a pro pianist), 4 digital FX simultaneously with multiply signal routing. The fan noise problem mentioned by other commentators doesn't disturb me at all.

If you're a blade runner man you can't pass it by.

Honestly, get a DeepMind 12

Thought I would save some space and money, but turned out that you can get twice the voices for what now became essentially same price. Skip this and get a DeepMind 12

Love the Deepmind 6

Super powerful polysynth for a great price. I mostly use the synth receiving midi notes from the beatstep pro, but also for live pads and lead sounds. Patch building is a bit of a crash course in understanding synthesis, but the versatility of the editing means there are a crazy amount of possibilities. Only very slight downside with the DM6 is that those 6 voices get eaten up pretty quickly on all but the single voice polyphonic patches, so this can limit the number of key presses available, but given the price difference in the DM12 this is just something I have to live with. You can get around it by changing the polyphony, but this can lead to an audible loss of richness and depth to patches. If you have the money (and space) go for the DM12. That said, you can get endless classic patches from this, with Juno, Jupiter and Oberheim tones all within easy reach. Oh, and the effects (sparingly used) are great too. I love it.

One of the best Synths on market

Behringer DeepMind 6 is a marvelous synthesiser, feature with great sounds, really easy to work with, fun to play.

I use this synth in my music projects, and it can do all sort of sounds, like leads, pads, bass and some sick arpeggios and sequecer.

Overall I guess is one of the best synth on market for this price tag.

I recommend it

My new favourite synth

This has quickly become my new favourite synth. You can get a huge variety of sounds from it, and it has so much hidden depth to it that it just keeps on surprising you. I especially like the polychord feature - for live use I can keep playing a chord progression with a single finger whilst tweaking other stuff. Only gripe I have with mine is one of the keys occasionally sticks in the down position - hoping with time that will stop happening. Other than that, absolutely love it!

Powefull

I was a bit sceptic to order this synth as the cheap price but long list of features seemed to good to be true. However i was utterly shocked by the quality of the synth. Everything from build to sound is utterly top notch, with the built in effects and DCA's you can get a vast range of sound.

The only downside I can think of is being limited to 2 wave shapes, square and saw. I would've liked to have a sine in there and the ability to change the levels of each shape individually but overall i am very pleased with the synth.

Great effect quality

Every analog synth needs good effects, Deepmind has T.C Electronics,Klarkteknik and Midas ; you do not need any external effects.Sound quality is really good .Polyphony is really nice . Programming is a bit tricky but easy with app (modulation possibilities are nearly limitless ).Price/performance is 10/10

Thanks Behringer team .

All you'll need for starting your synth journey

I play bass and guitar for 15 years now and this is my first synth.

I bought it for recording synths in my indie/dreampop project and for live gigs. I bought the DM6 instead of DM12 because of the compactness that the 6 voice model gives. The idea was that this will be a secondary instrument in my band. Boy oh boy was I wrong.

The sound possibilities you can get from this device are mindblowing and at times overwhelming having in mind the onboard FX which just multiplies the soundscape variations.

It's a fullblooded analog synth perfect for exploration and learning synthesis.

The only cons are the few nibs and nabs that have a cheap feel. Other than that, the best synth in this price range (an above)

Great sound, incredible value

This is an incredible synth for the money - does great classic analogue poly synth sounds, with nice effects added in. The build quality is really nice, and the keyboard is great to play. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice poly synth on a budget.
