What does this do to your sound?

Sure, this thing EQs. But in the least inspiring or confident way. The build is needless to say, something that lacks. If you're fine with this, go ahead. I would otherwise think harder about what you need this unit really for.

Poor quality product

I purchased two of these units. Both introduce significant amount of noise in the audio signals. Their power supply units also produce audible hum at 1m distance. I am not impressed with the quality of the product. The fades lock in middle position and it is difficult to make precise adjustment. The gain/volume knob is connected to a multi position switch rather than a potentiometer. As result the volume can only be adjusted in fixed degree steps instead of continuous rotation. If you decide place the unit outside of a cabinet you can remove the mounting plates on either side, however you will find two very large openings underneath them, therefore it's not worth leaving the unit open. Last but not least each of the channels is balanced MONO.
