Behringer HB01 Hell Babe 5-stars Reviews
Does the job - easily matches big brands
I compared this piece to Dunlop's CryBaby's. I had a tight budget so decided to opt for this one. Build is solid and sound quality is amazing. It's very versatile with the options to adjust frequencies and an integrated EQ. Sound output is up to my expectations. I wire this baby up to my Vox Tonelab (Japanese build) and it's a solid combo.
Really Enjoying This Pedal
Everything I wanted. Sounds great and is very versatile.
Don't be phased by the plastic shell, it's totally strong enough to stand up to all but the most neanderthal player.
Awesome Value!
The Behringer HB01 Hell Babe Wah-Wah Pedal does an excellent job of emulating the Dunlop DB-01 Dimebag Cry Baby From Hell pedal. It works and sounds like you'd expect. It's a great value for money product.
Wahwesome.
pedal does what you expect it to.
its optical so you cant do the whole cocked wah thing without foot on the treadle.
as a bassist the frequency selector and fine tune ability are most welcome, boost helps you cut through in a band setting too, especially with a sovtek/russian muff going too .
and best of all, no switches or pots to worry about.
Good purchase
Was considering another Crybaby, but spotted this with much more functionality eg booster, freq shift, level control. Seemed like a no brainer and seemed better performance than the GCB95 I passed on a few years ago. It’s plastic but suitably weighty.
quality construction, excellent features for the price.
Great optical wah
Great wah with a plethora of options and settings. Nice build quality and great for the price.
Best value for they money
If you can live with a tough, rugged, plastic enclosure that you'll porbably never break, then this wah is for you.
Outstanding Product
This is even better than I thought it would be.
For the price it’s a giant killer.
Quality build and very user friendly.
I highly recommend this pedal.
No moving parts the ware out Has to be a bonus??
can't beat it in this price
Half price of the dunlop...hmm let's try it was my first thought
Build like a tank,I don't thing anyone can destroy that pedal.
The only thing that annoys me is the position of the led, overall I'm very happy with my purchase.
Very good wah-wah for this price
Very good price. After several months of use, there is no problem. Not the best, but pretty good sound. I use it both at home and on stage. Recommend.
VFM
I needed a Wah Wah pedal for my pedal board for use in rehearsals and live performances. However, since I use it in 1/5 of the songs, I did not want to spend a fortune on it.
And then I saw this one and watched some YouTube videos to get an idea.
Now that I have it I can say it is worth it if you are also using it for a few songs.
+Build quality
+Sound of the effect
+Many options to make your Wah sound the way you like
-The LED which shows that your Wah is engaged, is in a bad position. You can not actually see that light in a live performance since your leg covers the view.
All in all though, I would definitely recommend it.
Good wah pedal
I was looking for a cheap wah pedal. It's first time that I use wah, so I'm not experienced about wah but I think it sounds good,
The material feels high quality. Because of it's weight (not light) I can use it without slipping on the ground. No problem to use with ) 9V battery.
Overall, it's a great value of money.
Surprisingly good wah pedal
I was looking for an affordable wah pedal that I could later modify with different electronic parts. All I wanted, was an optical control (lasts longer and is just more reliable). I picked this one, but in the end, I kept the original electronics, as it sounds surprisingly good! It offers a lot of controls to shape the output sound to your liking. It does not have a switch, because it switches on/off automatically when you move the pedal. I didn't trust that at first, but it's MUCH more convenient than a standard mechanical on/off switch, and again, you can control how fast it switches off.
When activated, it adds some noise to the signal, but for distorted sounds it's not that noticeable. It becomes worse with the boost. Looks like it's not shielded inside at all. It is a thick plastic chassis, so not that bad, but definitely don't try to stand on it. The wah effect happens only in a relatively short region of the pedal movement (can be DIY-modified).
It has its issues, but it's perfect as your first wah pedal OR as a cheap basis for further modifications, if you're into that.
Great Wah
It's a great wah pedal not only for its money. it's great overall. If you place it before the overdrive pedals it doesn't have an increase in volume . There is increase in volume only in clean sound but not so that it causes problems
Good for the price
I had it for a month or so and it's just fine. Sounds way better than the VOX wah for the same price. I'm planning on buying the Kirk Hammet wah, just because I tested it in the store and I dig it a lot. Also Hammet knows what he wants from a wah pedal.
But this one is nice and works well. I suggest using the "time" button to set it up so it doesn't go off immediately after you go back to start position but rather a second or two later. That way it feels and plays better imo.
Will return to this feedback after I get the change to test it properly.
Wahwah!
Build is like a tank and has all the features you desire.
I use it with synths mainly and the sound does not disappoint,i have to admit thought it is my first wah wah pedal,so i don't have a direct comparison to make but i like the sound :)
A great budget wah
I bought this pedal in order to get close to Frusciante's work and it's great. I recommend this even to beginners.
It makes the right noises
In a world where £90 is the expected price for a decent wah this pedal is very cheap but offers a very good pedal for the money. The construction is plastic buy feels very strong and it still looks like new after spending a lot of time on my pedal board.
The big pro for this pedal you don't need to activate a physical switch to turn the effect on, something that can be a bit hit and miss on traditional wah pedals is now very easy. As soon as you love the pedal the effect kicks in, once you take your foot and the pedal goes to its resting place it will switch off. This makes the wah very easy to engage for very short passages of play that simply wouldn't be possible on some of the industry standard models.
It's also adjustable with a dial on the side, which is another feature more expensive models sometimes don't have. There's also a boost feature, which can be handy to lift a solo, the button for this is on the side and easy enough to turn on and off with your foot
All in all for not much money you're getting a good sound, a good enclosure and added adjustability. Really good value pedal. Perfect for the gigging musician who isn't worried about using the bright brand or for those who want their first wah without breaking the bank.
Behringer HB01 Hell Babe
Awesome features that allow one to control the characteristics to help shape your desired wah, and a boost button!
also its got a really cool spring at the heel which lets the pedal spring back as soon as you take your foot off, this can be fun too!
overall. it really does sound good, great price too
