Behringer NEUTRON

This is a very impressive synth for the price range! Something very interesting from Behringer. So many people comment on the look of the synth, which I also was apprehensive about, but when you get it out of the box the design just makes sense strangely, very clever over-all what they've done with this synth.

my First Analog Synth

I immediately used it for a dance theater project as a sound designing tool. Massive bass sound - haunting atmosphere. The fatness of its sound is remarkable. The high tuning and noise of Neutron made good crispy feel when used with arpeggiator. Messing around with different ins and out of the module took my inspiration to next level.

The only thing that i don't like is the sound of the delay which is a bit cheap in comparison with all the other features.

Until now i used vst analog synths and the difference is huge!

analog beast with some digital control goodies

I don't think that the Neutron needs another review. One year after buying it, I can say that it works and looks even better, thanks to the firmware updates and to a better understanding of its capabilities.

The internal modules are not really gain calibrated to work optimally (internal routing from the Osc's to the Vcf is too hot, the attenuators don't allow for super fine tweaking, Lfo sounds aliased like hell, and other small details) but everything can be fixed through patches. This synth is a real joy, and seems quite robust too.

Crazy good value

Never thought i'd buy Behringer but this is just way too cheap to ignore. I've put it in my Eurorack case, for now, and it's great how all of the functions can act discretely, eg attenuverters, SH, delay etc can be patched independently into other parts of my rig.

excellent synthesizer, excellent price

Extremely versatile, excellent sound & excellent connectivity options.

An amazing intro into synths

I have some experience with software synths, including Reaktor for the "modular" experience. Neutron was my first piece of synth hardware and I'm amazed by what it can do!

Having a chunk of metal with knobs limits your options (as opposed to Reaktor blocks) and you start to focus on what actually matters. The default wiring gives you lots of headroom for experimenting.

And when you finally think you had enough with the default wiring – the modularity is going to bring in a whole new feel. Neutron has a whole lot of ins and outs and you can wire up some extremely creative combinations. I'd suggest to stick to this single piece of hardware for as long as possible – while you can link it up with other eurorack modules you'd want to benefit from having a limited amount of tools to bolster your creativity.

I wish tuning knobs very a bit more tight.

Great

For someone who doesn't know if modular/ semi modular is for him I think this is one of the best choices, as it's very versatile in terms of sound desgin. That was on the pro's, but on the cons honestly I don't really like the sound of the oscilators.

A Great Step Into The World of Modular

This has honestly been the best buy-in I've done for my studio yet. You can shape the sound in so many ways. Use noise to control the filter freq or LFO rate. Sample & Hold to vary delay time... Whatever you need, it's in there. Combo this with some DAW effects and you'll be pleased for a long time.

-A patch bay with an extensive set of inputs and outputs to control everything you need.

-2 Oscillators that can be locked in Sync. And the ability to morph through waveforms.

-Delay, drive and filter (Lowpass, bandpass, highpass)

A great place to let your creativity go ham. Also useful if you have or

are going to get a Eurorack setup.

-1 LFO and 1 S&H

Amazing for adding flavour to your sound in different ways.

-Great knobs

They feel smooth and sturdy.

Time thief

As I touch this, I am crazy enough to forget the time.

Astonishing Synth

I heard about this one and decided to try it. I have no experience with modular equipment and it seems this is an interesting instrument to learn it on yet has enough possibilities with its huge patchbay. I like the sound better than the microbrute. It can do wild sounds, interesting analog sounds en is pretty good for techno. At 299 its a steal it seems.

The only thing negative is the faceplate, which does not look good to me.
