Behringer NEUTRON Reviews
Blown away
Literally the best thing I ever bought for ly studio, I can get lost for hours in the wild soundscape the Neutron can deliver. Very happy to have made the leap into semi-modular. What a powerhouse, highly recommend!
amazing synth
an undeniably awesome synth for getting into modular / semi-modular. great sound and a lot of features
Crazy syntheziser for a crazy price
I am definitely not the first one saying this but it is a very good instument. It sounds fat and snappy. It is almost too much for this price...
A great first synth for modular
A great package that everyone can get some sound out of without additional modules since it is a complete signal path. In a vigger system it can be used to make great bass sounds. Also good for fm audio effects and noises
Feature-rich, versatile, cheap
Endless opportunities to experiment. However, when it comes at doing something specific or a bit more complex in terms of sound design, you may feel separate eurorack modules would be more suitable. I ended up jumping from virtual-analog synths to the Neutron and then to Eurorack because of this instrument, it opened up this new land to me.
No-brainer
Best cheap synth ever made.
It has a lot of unique features and it's extremely flexible.
You can create dope punchy 808, drums, dreamy pads, weird atmosphere drones, cool plucks, leads, fm basses...
It has unique filter which I think sounds dope. The drive section is pretty good.
Also there is a way to bypass all the effects if you want raw dry analog sound.
I got it in the combination with a Keystep which I use as controller for arps/seq.
It's an absolute no-brainer.
The only problem is you will want more gear to complement it.
Fat and modular
This is my first Behringer product...
Bought almost 3 years ago. So....
Neutron is a good synth I like it for is fat and sweepable oscs and his semimodular option. Lot of modules and almost the essential to start a modular system with an eye on the price.
Even if I had to send back to rma for a noisy knob the overall quality / price ratio is very good.
A GREAT SYNTH
Was very surprised with this synth because it is so cheap. But it has a very well built case and the VCOs are so good the filter is also very good. So yeah overall a very good synth
PROS:
Great filter
Good VCO with the 3340 VCO chip which a lot of legendary synths have used
Many patch points since the synth is semi-modular
Snappy Envelopes
Digital LFO with many capabilities
Many utilities
CONS:
The only one I can think of is the BBD delay which in my opinion is useless maybe and extra utility would be more useful.
It's a beast
It's a sonic terror, in the best sense. This is not the first choice for creamy sounds but for epic bass and weirdness. The delay has a very crunchy sound, which some might see as a minus, but I absolutely love it. It's a keeper and a great way to start dabling in modular synthesis. It pairs perfectly with a Crave, so get them both : - )
This is a great tool for Berlin School music.
Pretty cool for noisy stuff
As per title, it's really a good instrument to mess around and get pretty much a beginner-level knowledge on different circuits and functions in a modular synth. However it's extremely easy to detune and in general suffers from a noticeable noise leak in the delay line. Still pretty satisfied with it, I use it as a sound source to chop off with other eurorack-modules.
The light reflected by the red matte metallic paint under the light source is full of texture, and the black pattern effectively avoids monotony, simplicity and chicness. In terms of hand feel, the damping of the knob is moderate, the texture is sufficient, and the distribution density and position arrangement of the keys and knobs are quite reasonable, so there will be no mistouch caused by hand clamping guidance. The process treatment of imitation wood side and metal back plate is fine, and there is no picky at the same price.
The front panel marks the boundaries of various functional modules with lines, which is very eye-catching. It is very friendly to friends who are new to the module industry. The paintwork and printing quality are at the upper middle level
Perfect synth!
Ability to build FM synth as well as PWM as well as additive - is fantastic for my opinion!
Totally satisfied for two years of ownership.
Behringer Neutron
At the time I purchased this, I really wasn't into modular, it was more of a novelty and since, I have sold it but now regret that decision.
The instrument was well packaged and built. All POTs and switches were solid and the instrument responded well to tweaking.
I can't really say anymore on this except that I will probably purchase it again in the future.
It's nice that it will also fit into a modular setup if you don't want to use the factory case.
Highly recommended!
Excellent sound at a great price.
Impressive Synth
The build Quality is very nice.
Nice sound and many things to discover!
This is good to get to know the ropes of
Modular Synthesizers and an interesting addition
for any enthusiast! Good Job!
Beyond my expectations, lot s of inspiration
This is a prearl in the sea of synths
This one is so great. For such a low price you get so much of it.
The sound, and the sound quality are just great.
Really great for beginners, it has all you need for your first synth, but also a nice addition to any other synth.
Great synth for semi-modular beginners
Huge sound and build quality for its price. Many patchays and features to take your sound design to the next level. Very powerfull
I love it
Great sound and excellent handling. Thanks
