Good bargain for the price

Bought to replace Yamaha emx. Not so good.

Our ageing Yamaha emx was showing signs of wear. As it is in constant use we needed to take it out and repair it. We bought the PMP6000 to go in it's place. Lots of things are familiar and the layout is similar so all good so far.

Cons. There is only Speakon connectors for the output. I dislike these and would prefer the option, like the Yamaha. Minor point. The PMP is supposed to be more powerfull than the Yamaha. Yeah right.! 800W per channel with a max input of 1000W tells part of the story. Why manufacturers can't quote RMS is beyond me. Perhaps because putting them on a proper test would melt the amps? The 500W Yamaha (also a made up rating) sounds better and is louder. Sound is what it is about after all. Class D amps when they came out were great. This desk's sound is not to my liking. I also do not like two fans which make a lot of background noise. The preamps hiss when near anything like full on. So no good for recording. No compression available on the inputs either.

Conclusion. If I could I would send it back, but I have used it so think morally I shouldn't. What is going to happen is I will repair the Yamaha EMX and keep the PMP in the bottom of a dark cupboard for emergency only.

8 Piece Charity Covers Band

My PMX5000 became just slightly too low output for what we needed so traded up. This mixer amp has not disappointed. This summer it served our live music sound stage for a weekend long village charity event (long duty cycles 6-8 hours, and out doors). We just played a 250 person village hall at high volume levels. Delighted with the sound quality. This mixer amp has enough of the more advanced features to make it really flexible and is intuitive enough for a novice to use after a YouTube tutorial (there are plenty). Ten out of ten Behringer!

Great unit , well built and good sound.

Bought this nearly 5 years ago. Use it almost daily with Vocals, keyboard, up to 4 guitars and odd bits. It is real versatile and easy to use. Real value for money.

Maximum flexibility in the rehearsal room and on-stage

We - 5 people rock cover band - use this mixer to drive our PA in the rehearsal room and to power the stage monitors when gigging without a dedicated sound engineer. We are using all available mono channels and are very happy with the features - the power amp with Speakon outputs, two pre-fade monitor mixes, two FX engines (we use a fair sounding reverb for the four vocals and a bit of chorus for acoustic git), not-at-all noisy preamps, faders, and knobs, very low fan noise under load, fairly precise "meter bridge" (quite sufficient for live music).

In its Thon case, it does feel quite heavy, but can still be put on any cab or small table when on-stage.

After 2 years of use, we have one defective LED but it's pretty nearly perfect.

We have used its older sibling (PMP4000) for 8 years before it broke down. We didn't find anything better than the PMP6000 to meet our needs -

great price-performance ratio for live bands. We hope it lives 7 or more years, too!

5 Years Use and still going strong

Bought in 2011 to upgrade from the smaller PMP4000. Mixer has been used on numerous gigs as well as practice weekly. As the gear is packed away everytime we use it - a flight case was an essential to avoid and transit/handling damage. The flight case allows us to use it without fully removing the mixer it from the case. Plenty of features (some of which we have never used), volume is sufficient for most small venues and on occasion we have run the main mix out to another slave power amp and speakers. It has never cut-out, blown a fuse or let us down all the time we have been using it.

spot on ... as long as it works

I'm using this for seminars, which means microphones and laptops and the occasional keyboards inputs, this machine provides it all. Enough power and flexibility to serve what we do. Well designed. Excellent sound. Like it ! :-) - just an update: one of the switches broke and I wanted to replace that myself. This proved to be impossible to do, because Behringer sealed off all connectors. No way to do repairs. This is not what I'd expect from a company like this...

Behringer Desk

I've had more than one of these and each one has proved to be reliable, only reason for changing was to upgrade to newer models.

I use it to drive 2 EV ELX 112's and 2 EV ELX 115's in stereo and there's plenty of power.

Would recommend them every time and considering the price ? Its a no brainer.

Great, versatile mixer

I picked this up to use for the music department of a school, so it had to be robust and easy to use.

Unfortunately, the unit I ordered developed an alarming buzzing sound as soon as it was turned on - I sent it back and it was quickly and efficiently repaired. It now gives us excellent service and the fact that the single unit combines the mixer and power amp adds to the ease of use.

The effects are good (even though we only really use the reverbs...) and the sound is always clear. The eq is really effective and quite subtle, too.

Great build quality...this looks like it would take some knocks.

Behringer stuff is a bit of a mixed bag - some is great, other items not so...but this is a decent, sturdy, useful bit of kit, Recommended!

Beringher PMP 6000

This was a replacement for a mixing desk a separate power amp set up. It has now been used in the most demanding of situations for over 3 years and has not had a glitch of any kind. It has great In / Outs and I use them. It has the 2 separate effects for simultaneous use and the sound is great. For small to medium size gigs this has all the power you should need and quality build means you don't need to fear giving it the beans. Seems like previous fader issues have been addressed and I would recommend this mixer for any one.

PMP 6000

We are a full time band we have had the PMP 1200w and had 6years great service out of

it.We decided we go for a bit more power without more bulk. Which is exactly what we have got. There is such a lot of nonsense spoke about Behringer. We have found it as good as any and yes we have used most of them over the years. It's not just the price it's the fact that if you ensure you get the product that meets your needs. e.g. if you are a heavy metal unit including keyboards and a twin bass drum kit stick to p.a.hire. However for the three/four piece bands performing to 250+ it's a great buy.

Great value

This is a great desk - I have upgraded from the pmp5000 for the extra amp power. I have had no problems with reliability, and use for my 5-8 piece band with ease. I use with an active sub and 2x sx300s and use both monitor mixes for active monitors- a third mix would be nice.
