Behringer UMC404HD 5-stars Reviews
Worked straight out of the box
Connected with Win10 based laptop. Worked right away. Plugged it in and all good. I like the sturdy chassis. So far so good.
No noise, great Interface
Previously had Focusrite, this beast is way better :)
Excellent for the price
I got this audio interface to connect all my instruments to my PC. It has very low latency and works well for recording guitar directly to your PC.
It's very feature complete and can definitely recommend for this price.
Probably the best money can buy (Windows 10)
Really impressive, as far as low cost interfaces go. The preamps are great, I doubt you'll find better at this price with the features. There's inserts for each channel too, which you won't often find on smaller interfaces. Build is solid, weighty, less flimsy than I imagined - it feels quality. Knobs and switches are smooth and feel solid.
My only gripe is that I didn't just go ahead and buy the UMC1820 instead!
Steal for the price
I did a lot of research before buying this Audio Interface. I was split between this and the 2i2 before I settled in this. This unit met and even exceeded my expectations.
Its a sturdy little package, which is built solid and has very good pots and buttons. I read people had issues with the drivers, but if you download the official drivers from the Behringer website, the setup of the interface is a breeze and the latency is extremely low.
I have been using this for home music production. The verstality of the device is really amazing. I currently have my
- electric piano connected through MIDI
- condensor mic connected through XLR
- electric guitar conected through TRS
The interface deals with all three with 0 issues, and has a really low noise floor. I find the amplification also to be sufficient for my needs.
I would highly recommend this interface for anyone who is on the fence.
Great interface for the price
The only minor con is the 48v power which can be either on or off but for all inputs.
The best USB audio interface for the hobby musician
The best USB audio interface for the hobby musician. Very complete.
Unbeatable Value For Money
I was attracted to this device by the sheer amount of I/O options usually at this price point the offerings are very limited. To get the same amount of versatility with other devices you'd be looking at spending twice or even three times as much.
Having 4 inputs opens up a world of possibilities and with it being built like a tank I can safely say that this will be a long residency in my home studio. The pre-amps are very quiet and sound great and the pad switch is very useful for recording higher volume sources without having to faff with the gain right down the bottom. The only drawback I have found is that the phantom power can only be turned on or off for all 4 inputs. I would have preferred the ability to switch it on for one or two at a time to allow me to use passive and active mics together but this is a small price to pay considering what you are getting for your money. In my opinion, this is a steal!
One of the desirable features for me was the ability to have multiple outputs connected. This allows me to have a stereo connected for casual listening as well as my studio monitors and switch backwards between the two.
Best on bugdet.
Simply good, and cheap interface.
I use it to record drums, gutitar and bass cabinet - good in all.
Feels good "in touch".
For the price you cant beat it
The mdias pres sound amazing and the amount of pre-amps and feature set makes it better than all its budget competitors in my opinion. Build quality is also excellent
Great audio interface
This amazing audio interface is what you need. I am using an i5, 8GB RAM and SSD ,and it works amazing. No issues at all and 0 latency. Audio quality is amazing. I am using this interface with Cakewalk DAW.
Top notch audio interface
Solid build, everything works fine. The pre-amps are good quality.
Very good
I've had it now for a year or so.
No issues with it.
I bought it only because I wanted to have more ins than I had in my previous interface. And for the price it packs a lot of features, and the materials are very good.
The unit is sturdy enough, with a solid metallic casing, and the sound recording is super high quality.
The only thing I don't like is the slightly low output power... My previous interface was louder, but that's being picky...
Easy to set up and use
Bought this to use for multiple inputs for online piano lessons. Pro tip: Skype only accepts the first input, so I had to take audio out of this rather than USB. But it works great on my Mac. Good interface for the price.
VFM.
Not sure whether the interface sports real Midas pre-amps or just "Midas-designed" ones but for newbies like myself, the UMC404HD is more than enough for my use case, and then some. Drivers installed without hickups and everything generally seems to work fine.
The manual should be a little more descriptive with regards to connectivity of the outputs but other than that, no real complaints.
I bought this some good 6 years ago. I bought it as my first audio interface together with my M Audio M3 8 Three Way Monitors.
Must say that it has been a long ride and it has not disappointed me to date.
I've used it to connect external hardware as synthesizers, and have used it in club situations serving as the middleman between the club mixer and my laptop in an Ableton live performance situation.
It is for sure built strong as it can be for the price range and it does give you the confidence in knowing it can withstand whatever is thrown at it.
The only con I would find is the headphone output that distorts a little bit when cranked but it is definitely not the end of the world.
Overall, as I referred previously, what you pay, it is definitely an amazing deal and does the job.
Great piece of gear
I use this product in my home studio. Mostly for all recording & mixing.
Pros:
easy to use, great sound quality, compatible with almost any DAW, 4 channels, no hum or noise, knobs and jack are OK.
Cons:
headphone jack is litlle loose, but otherwise everything is OK.
I recommend this unit to all who have their own small home studios. It's easy to use and you can get very good quality results ony any type of recording.
4 interfaces
Maybe its my software so not a complaint - but the 4 inputss are not usable at one time...
However 2 inputs (i.e. 1 and 2) is fine at present and the 2nd 2 (e.g. 3 and 4) inputs can be set up waiting if required.
Behringer in its best
This interface is awesome.
Has 4 mixed inputs (XLR and Jack), phantom power for mics and padding for instruments. Has midi in, you can switch between two outputs.
It even has 4 "send receive", one for each input so that you can connect external effects ou processors.
Pros: Its awesome, sturdy and i've been using it forever only connected by usb.
Cons: I really have nothing to point out. its that good.
Behringer UMC404HD is a STEAL!
An amazing product with amazing qualities. The setup was easy, so far 0 issues and errors through out my mic & instrument usage :)
