Cheap but cool

Easily moded to have more delay time.

It fits it's purpose. All this price range pedals feel the same so you know what to expect.

It's a bit too light but that's ok. Wish it could work on battery.

Good for the price

I bought this pedal to use with my Gibson J45 and for the price I cannot complain. It gives a clear sound and does exactly what I want it to.

Very nice for the price

I use it mainly for guitar . I like pushing the feedback to the limit and playing with time ratio for crazy pitching . This is where the sound should gain character with natural overtones but the vd400 can?t handle it well. For sure it?s way better than digital delays but I expected more tolerance on feedback than getting a not-my-taste ugly distortion.

Can?t complain for the dark character and short delay time for the money (most will use it a slap back delay which is great) .

After all it?s a budget analog delay and for the price is recommended

Its great for the price

Hey.....It's an affordable analog delay pedal. It's not high end but it's like 25 euros

Nothing special but it is a good choice for something cheap that would transform an also cheap guitar.

Please REMEMBER this need some 9V DC power supply that WASN'T written on the description.

I love behringer's effects but they feel so cheap and i already broke one of those so i don't trust it

Great sound but it broke

It broke after few months.

But the sound was great

don't expect miracles

for the price.. you can't really expect a lot

can't quite dial in the delay tone much .. they aim for vintage , to be honest it would really sound like a vintage organ delay, wouldn't apply it on guitar

If looking for an ambiental, large spacey-petrucci type delay.. go for something else

Very nice delay pedal

This is, indeed, a very nice delay pedal. First ofall, very well priced. Second, it really delivers what you'd expect from a vintage delay pedal without compromising the signal from your guitar, It is made of platic, which does not look as sturdy as , say, a Boss pedal, but does not seem weak or cheap either. Controls are straightforward. Have not tried with a power source yet, and it seems that it can operate for a lng time on batery.

What is says on the tin!

I was using a TC Electronic Flashback Delay/Looper previously, which is a great pedal, but offers more than I actually need, so I decided to go with this instead. I'm not disappointed - there's plenty of scope to vary the depth and rate to suit. I've used it with an Epiphone SG through two different amps, Marshall MG100DFX and a Fender Performer 1000, both upfront and through the FX loop, no issues with either set up. It's a Behringer, so it's not as solid as other makes, but unless you plan on jumping up and down on it, it's solid enough. Definitely recommended as an affordable delay pedal.

Unbeatable for the price

It's a simple analog delay in a plastic case, but for the price it's really good. I use it with my analog synths which have no internal effects. The battery seems to last pretty long when you remember to switch it off after playing.

Great value!

Lovely analog delay, using it on my keyboard efx chain and for djing. Feels plastic, cheap, but im still very happy with this unit as it has decent sound and its making crazy sounds on the higher intensity setting which is usefull for dub music. For these money you wont find better analog delay!

Good enough is you treat is good.

When I was researching this stompbox (or all other stompboxes I bought), I kept on reading how people were b*tching about the plastic casing (instead of the metal casing on Boss, for example). I don't see what the fuzz is about. If you treat your stompbox with respect, it will last longer than you're told on the internet.

vintage delay

The Behringer VD400 Vintage Delay Pedal is a serious delay effect with fantastic potential. The three controls give vast arrays of sonic experimentation and let the user explore many types of effect from short bathroom type delays that can emulate vintage reverb to overloaded long delays that can feed back and create interwoven tapestries of sound. Even as a beginner with the use of pedals you can just dive right in as this unit is great. The sound quality and noiselessness are very good also which is great for a unit of such low price. Any musician using electrical instruments will find this unit a great help in inspiration and great fun to use. A MUST BUY FOR EVERYONE !!

bought one to try?...

Behringer makes a lot of 'distortion' stomp boxes for a lot of different styles?...I gave this away to a young up and coming guitarist who was desperately saving up for his first guitar/amp in a box from the Argos catalogue!!!....hmmm I also gave him and small 10w amplifier a Peavey Raptor guitar along with a tuner and a beginners book out of my collection!......well...someone's got to keep music going eh?....d;-)

Behringer vd400

owned this for about 9 months and its been the staple delay for my board.

If you want long clean digital repeats,than this isnt for you!!

Its an analogue delay with bucket brigade chips and sounds justy lovely.

ideal for that 60's slap back echo or just to add a touch of depth to your lead solo.

It is a little dark sounding as most analogue delays are but it just adds a very warm soft edge to the tone.

The delay is only 300ms so not alot and is limited as a full on delay.

Overall its one of Behringers better copies.

I should now as Ive owned nearly all at some point.

Can't grumble at the price.

I have a numb of items from the Behringer stable and have been generally lucky with the quality and reliability of them. This pedal I found to be quite surprising. For the money, I expected a really cheap and nasty sound ( I bought it on the spur of the moment and couldn't grumble with the price) but found it to be pretty good! I am a keen fan of Hank Marvin and am always looking for echo or delay pedals to help emulate his sound, well, with a bit of tweaking, I managed to produce a pretty good Apache effect quite quickly. It's not a Space Echo or Copycat, so don't expect miracles, but for the money, it is a very good pedal. Recommended.
