Behringer X Air XR18 Reviews
Perfect
Perfect mixer! Small, practical, good for travel.
Great product
This is a fantastic digital mixer for the price. I am using it in several bands, sometimes to manage our in-ear monitoring and sometimes to manage our FOH and it delivers.
Multitrack recording works great and is super handy.
The app is not always the most intuitive thing but once you've used it a bit you get used to it.
I've seen a few people complain about the quality of the built -in network access point but in my experience it hasn't been a problem at all!

Your UPS Courier is NOT GOOD!
The UPS Courier is not that efficient. They should call the customer when they can't find the location.

I surely recommend for small churches who want to go digital

Behringer X Air XR18 18-Channel Digital Mixer
This is the best piece of equipment i have ever bought makes my life so much handier with my daw ableton and along with the Behringer xair easy to set up loads of you tube videos on both units would recommend
viel für wenig geld
tolles einsteiger Produkt.
Amazing Value, but totally dependent upon the software..
Firstly, this box is all that most small gigging bands will ever need in a mixer. 16 individual inputs, the feature set is extensive and well documented. Sound quality is great for the price, it's pretty well built, there is an extensive FX rack - it's incredible for the money!
But - how they manage to make this affordable is to remove almost every hardware control interface, and that's really my only concern. You are completely reliant on the (albeit free) software app in order for it be useable, without that, it's just a big paperweight - and be aware that Behringer have not updated their control app for over a year now. There are 3rd party apps which do a better job in any case, but understand that at some point, app development will certainly stop, ultimately rendering the mixer useless. Who knows when that will happen, but it's important to bear in mind if you are going to keep this for any length of time.
Software reliant tech has been around for a while and always eventually comes to the end of it's "product cycle" as the manufacturers call it. At that point it's junk.
So to sum up, fantastic value as long as the software app is maintained. The box cannot be considered without the software, so that's where the stars are lost.
Perfect
Nothing to say more, I just love this mixer..
Huge space saver
I got this for my home studio to replace my old interface plus a mixing desk and some outboard FX units. It gave me 10 extra inputs and freed up a huge amount of room by replacing all that gear in one small box.
In use everything has been fine. Bit of a learning curve using the software but there's a really handy facebook group for owners and some good youtube tutorials. Once I got used to how everything is supposed to work, I haven't found any needs that aren't covered by this mixer.
I also took it to a band rehearsal so we could get a decent live recording and it coped very well there too, with all inputs in use and running monitor mixes through the AUX outputs.
I haven't used the wireless much. It seemed to work fine in a home setting but I don't know if I'd trust it in a packed venue. I've stuck to using the ethernet and it's been rock solid.
I haven't delved into the phone apps either, but the PC software is comprehensive and about as straightforward to use as you could expect given all the possibilities on offer.
All in all, a great purchase for a variety of uses. Especially so in my case, since this has replaced so much gear that I broke even on the cost of buying it. I haven't missed any of my old gear at all either, which is a huge compliment to the XR18.
Great small mixer for band practice
Great simple little mixer, if you're looking to save money, save space, and need to monitor/record some ~5 instruments (drums will most likely take up like 8 mic slots). Control app is easy to use once you get to know your way around it. Can be used with a smartphone, but I'd suggest a (drop-proof) tablet. Or a controller, if not too short on room space.
Also, this model (compared for e.g. with XR16), will let you record multiple tracks, instead of just stereo! Very important if you're thinking of using it for recording, and not just for monitoring.
An upgrade to our studio sound
I have been working with X Air XR18 in rehearsal and in concerts for some months now. So far and the result is flawless everyone in the band is happy!
Perfect solution! It does a lotttttttttttttt!!!
Super good! sometimes it's easier to have an analog desk, but if you can muster a little more complications, you get so much out of this.
Super sturdy. All the effects work well enough (EQ, comp, limiter, reverb, delay). You can have different presets saved on your mobile/computer. If you are a regular at different venues you can get pretty close to plug and play, and it works pretty well considering we do IEM. Everything is saved... sound check takes only a few mins at that point.
A great option for IEM, with 6 AUX outs plus the main L+R. Everyone in the band can have their own mix... That's super super helpful in certain contexts. (we do home practices with an electric drum set, and this is very good for us.)
Super dope as well if you wanna do any live recordings! It works as an interface. It's probably not the absolute top notch studio quality interface... but I guarantee that it's good enough for most bands. You get 16 sperate channels... works really really well.
Also, supppper awesome option for streaming.
But, it's also nice to stash "the box" as my band calls it, behind the drummer at the show and forget about it -Takes up no space. You don't actually have to adjust anything on it, so it can be pretty hidden.
Only complaint is that in one venue we play in, sometime the wifi doesn't connect because that particular frequency is busy... which can be frustrating. But you can connect via cable... It would be nice if that cable and USB cable were the same cable (it seems weird to have your interface hooked up to your computer to record, but then you can only hook into the X-Air app that you use to adjust volumes ect via an ethernet cable) But I assume there is some good engineering reason for that.
Really happy to see innovation on this front! I now just wish I could find a guitar cab that wasn't 15kg....
Loovvveee this product!
Very satisfied. value for money
All he wants is a good external router.
Real good digital Mixer
This is a complete digital mixer allowing up to 18 inputs + 8 outputs
Good!
Currently, it is used for various recordings. We are very pleased with the functionality and quality.
Great mixing console for small events
My personal use with the mixer is for every small event that doesn’t include a large number of lines.
As I see it this is the mixer pros & cons
pros:
size & weight
easy to use
acts like a stage box
cons:
the software is a bit difficult to use and feels old.
Bad built-in wifi! Use an external router.
In conclusion, the mixer sounds great! If you’re looking for value for the price, as a compact main mixer for small events or as a backup that should be your next mixing console.
Best 400 I spent so far
This mixer is, as other people already pointed out, amazing for the money. I have been looking for an upgrade path from this mixer with at least similar features but I still couldn’t find anything coming close to this under 1500.
My only nitpick with this mixer are the just "okey" preamps, the "okey" DA/AD converters and that Behringer really should upgrade their software game.
Behringer if you read this, make another version with half as many preamps but better quality ones, go all out on the DA/AD converters and you got yourself the absolute winner interface/mixer under 2000.
Best bang for buck
Compact, easy to use, and just awesome considering the price. does the job!
