Behringer X Air XR18 Reviews
Great Digital Mixer
I use this in a live setting for a 6 piece band including drums. Works and sounds great. Can sometimes lose connection between my tablet and the mixer but this is because my tablet has connected to the house wifi, so just disconnect and re-connect to the mixer.
superb
Overall very good. worth for money. Solid. Compact. Lack of cooling fan is a drawback as it's getting pretty hot. Software interface has some minor issues.
Best Mixer for small bands
Great quality, after using it for more than 100 live concerts still reliable unit with great features and flexibility for the price. Recommendation: use a external router for controlling the mixer, the built in wifi is ok only if one person is operating the unit and stays nearby.
Just what I needed
This is a very handy solution to get your own mix if you are in situations where you bring your own PA system. We do café's, weddings, small venue's ... ideal as we put this in the center and just plug in. With a tablet (I use a Surface Pro) I can change all settings, add effects, gate, mix the monitors, ... everything you can do with a full mixing table. As well, with the 6 AUX's we can now have every on in-ears and we don't have to haul wedges with us (also better for ambient sound). The best thing?! Hit save and you can recall settings at any time. Makes sound checking quick and easy.
all very good
very good for live sound
This is the best console
I have exciting to use this console, very useful, it have useful app, and enough effects for voice and instruments. I will buy more!
Wow! just Wow!
For a combined stage box and digital mixer this is packed with features. It's now the core of my live rig whether it's a small gig or open air. I'd recommend getting the xr18 book off of amazon
Great piece of equipment.
We use it on our 4 piece band and run the backing tracks, record live performances and our monitors and its the best. No complains at all.
Great For Functions
This is a great mixer for live band events, especially if you want to record your set. The digital mixer app on the ipad is also great for lightweight low maintenance mixing.
For arround 400$ i bought this it was the best on the market
A smart Choice
Easy to handle, petite, but i hate when i lose the wifi conection
Excellent Mixer for the price
Features, usability and quality unbeatable at eh price.
Been using this for 8 years gigging pubs, clubs, halls, weddings, parties etc. so reliable and rugged.
Best buy my band ever made.
Awesome for studio practice space
I have a rather small practice space/studio in my home, and this mixer works great for space saving and functionality. I have it mounted in a rack space on my desk, connected to my computer via ethernet cable to control the mix. Works great for my purpose!
Easy to work with , crystal sound , easy for carrying. Thanks Behringer!
The best choise in this price range
We are a local band and we have already two of these mixers. We use one exclusively for rehearsal and recodrding, and the other one for live gigs. The functions and usability are unbeatable. Easy to configure for any kind of environment. Portable and easy to carry. Really a gem.
Still going strong, about to make my second purchase.
We've been using it for 2 years now and it's still going strong. No complaints, in fact I'm planning to buy another one for our other location!
I have tried many different Digital Mixers but this is by far the best bang for your buck.
Not a pro piece of kit!
I possess a Soundcraft desk that is 35 years old, and it is as functional as when it came out of the box. The XR18 I bought some seven years ago has fried four of it's pre-amps and Behringer supplies neither schematics nor parts to licenced repair technicians. Moral of the story, Behringer is not up to industry standard. Lesson learned; if I can't fix it myself, I won't buy a Behringer product ever again.
Good Product
I bought it 3 years ago, so i need uprgade to 32x rack, because about features. but it is nice and easy to use for beginners.
My new favorite tool for live sound
This is my first digital mixer. I ordered this unit to push a dad-rock cover band I run sound for into the 21st century. I have experience zero buyers remorse since deploying this thing, the only thing I regret is not making the change sooner.
I won't harp on the built-in wifi, which is abysmal in anything beyond an emergency backup capacity. Once you hook it up to a reasonable network (I used a $6 thrift-store dual-band router), and get over the digital learning curve, it's a dream.
Sound quality is fantastic. It has more than enough presets onboard to run my entire show from internal memory. Built-in FX are mostly versatile and useful, as well as sounding great. As far as features and sound quality goes, the XR18 punches well above it's weight class.
My singular gripe is on the quality of the physical connectors. XLR locking is hit or miss (as-in definitely triple-check), and wobble more than I'd like even when locked in.
The Best
I can't explain how much this saved me for recording and practice. Having seen these used live and being recommended them by sound engineers, I picked one up to streamline our jamspace set up, never looked back. 18 channel interface with MIDI zero issues getting it to work with Reaper to it's full extent.
The software bundled with it is excellent for live practice, since you can get one mix in the room for the PA and another separately recording. It is tremendously detailed for live setup too. Easy to use.
Because of this, I was easily able to get whole jam sessions quickly set up and demo ideas, that's what's most important to me here, it took the pain out of cobbling together a setup in a jamspace and for significantly cheaper than anything else would have cost to do the same. Can't recommend enough.
