I wanted to use it with Midas M32C and or Pro Tools.

First, integration with Pro Tools is not possible.

Setting up the Compact (in MC mode) to work with Midas M32C was a bit trickey but finally got it working. The motorized faders are cool and I like these. The functionality is not the best for that kind of usage, since some knobs do nothing. Sometimes it does not connect properly and needs a couple of restarts, but it will work eventually.

The Compact model does not have LAN connection while X-Touch Extender has. It is a huge difference. Also, both P-Touch and P-Touch Extender can work with Pro Tools while P-Touch Compact cannot.

It is not exactly I was looking for.

ok.. but not the best in its class

Bought this controller for use with Ableton live,

I have a ton of midi controllers mainly APC's so I can only compare to these.

the controllers build is okay, not the sturdiest and the knobs and faders are of medium quality.

Software integration proved to be a bit tricky at first but it does work, i found that for the same price akai offers a much better option minus the power supply.

motorized faders are cool but I failed to find a use for them.

The midi controller market is quite competitive and you can most probably find something which is much more portable and easier to integrate with your daw
