Behringer Xenyx 302USB Reviews
Dinky little mixer/external sound card
Use this for connecting my macbook to my monitor speakers and the sound is excellent. Build quality is amazing and it is so well laid out for such a tiny device. I also plan on using this for doing some home recording and practising bass/guitar through so will update my review in due course.
Update:
Finally got round to hooking my guitar up to this, I output my zoom multistomp into the line in and output it to my monitor speakers. This allows me to hear the pedal in true stereo so i can play around with the panning effects. I also got round to testing it in garageband. Initially it had some bad latency but I just shut garageband down and unplugged it and restarted garageband and it was fine.
The only gripe I have is that I have to record using headphones as I can't figure out how to output the line input from the guitar to garageband while listening to the output (including the guitar) from garageband through the mixers and speakers. If anyone has this mixer and knows if this can be done please email me on [email protected].
Can't comment on tracktion software that comes free as behringer never got back to me with code after registering.
Satisfied
I bought this cheap mixer for guitar recording and it records really well, There is some noise when you listen music on it, but the important thing is that there is almost no noise when recording vocals or instruments, i would recommend this mixer for anyone on a budget.
A decent and affordable USB interface/mixer
I bought this product for one reason and it serves me really well.
I needed a quick way to connect my mic to my pc and do some lightweight audio streaming so I went ahead and bought this little fellow.
The price is really low for what you actually get, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this small Xenyx came with its own AC adaptor, cable and even a sticker for your personal entertainment.
Some freeware software is also included if you follow the link to Behringers page and download the package they give out - which is also nice.
The installation process with this Xenyx is also very simple and hassle free, it uses the standard USB audio codec found on every pc so the whole operation is kind of a "plug and play" thing.
My only complaint with this product is that there is no off switch on it so the only way to shut it down is to disconnect the USB cable. Call me old fashioned but that's the way I prefer my electronics.
And also the phantom on this is not 48v and can't be toggled - it's constant 15v all the time.
Good for analog, bad for digital
I bought this little mixer especially for using it as an external sound card, to connect my guitar to PC. First of of it is laggy, the latency makes is unusable for this purpose. Second, if the line signal comes for USB(output from pc), it is sent again as input from the MIC input, creating a strange and infinite feedback. I`m still to understand the point of this feature, but i did not managed to make my way around it. Anyway, i ended up using it as a regular mixer, powered by USB instead of wall socket, and it works fine in that sense.
Nice external-soundcard with extras
Hello folks,
i'm using this Behringer Xenyx 302 USB since 2012 and i'm really satisfied with it. The Behringer's main task in my setup is to connect three sounddevices on my active monitors.
1. My Mac Book Pro on the USB-Play channel
2. my Playstation 3 on the 2-track channel
3. my iPhone on the line-in channel
the 2-track channel is always playing the ps3 sound. Between my Macbook and the iPhone I have to choose with the red button. In this way i can play a shooter on the ps3 and hear music with my Macbook or my iPhone.
I'm Using a little program called soundsource on my mac to faster choose between the internal speakers (or headphones) and the Behringer.
The headphone output is very powerful and sounds good witch my DT 880.
Attention in this setup you need a AC-Powered USB-Hub, if you connect the Behringer directly you can't use is when you PC is turned off...
Real good mixer
I use the Behringer Xenyx 302 to record vocals with my Windows 7 PC.
You can connect it via USB. I had no problems with drivers to get it run on my system.
You can also run it without a PC with the included power supply. In this mode I use it to hear my singing on headphones.
The quality is really good. The recorded sound is better than i expected, as this mixer is really cheap. You have enough adjust possibilities. It is really small and it's not too heavy. The nubs are of good quality.
You can also record guitars with it and it sounds naturally.
Best low budget mixer for homerecordings!
You get a lot for the price!
I bought this little interface as my first one and I am satisfied with it. It's very small but has all of the benefits I need from it. It's very small and looking very good.
I like a lot that there is a one port for guitar and mic. Also, the clipping flashing lights are very useful and looking very descent.
The mixer also has a lot of different switchers to control the sound, which is very useful for recording some home sounds and to mix the sound.
In addition, there is also a free software that you can download, which is amazing for people, that are starting to use a mixer and to record some music.
Highly recommend this one. For the money you pay, this is probably the best interface you can get
litle help
Very useful when you need free space or to take with youthe sound is good, comes with all you need ,and the price is very low for what you will get
Good value
I use it for a headphone mix only and for this it is perfect. Very portable and very well priced.
Perfect mixer
The only thing that came in mind after using this for two days was that the product must the best mixer that you can get for this money and with these features.
Has the needed features and a little more and the quality is perfect.
The nubs are good and loose enough to turn. That's a good thing!
The USB feature makes this product even better and I have nothing to complain.
It's awesome
It's a great starter for my home studio, I love using it to record vocals! It's easy to set up, and use! A very good investment for anyone just starting out in the world of home recording :)
