Behringer Xenyx Q502USB Reviews
It's mostly good but has one major problem: you can't hear the sound from the USB/2-track AND the monitor at the same time, just one at a time. Major design flaw, research it. Also the power source connector is very unstable.
Good value
I bought this Xenyx Q502 for my laptop and video calling, and it's great. It's compact so sits well next to my laptop allowing plenty of room for camera stand and speakers. Installation doesn't present any problems, and the fact that it has a compressor (albeit basic) is fantastic.
As you may expect from Behringer, this little mixer is robust and sounds fine for what I bought it for. However, I do have a couple of small issues. Firstly, there are a couple of pads that allow you to send both the RCA inputs and the USB input to both the phones and main mix, which I found slightly confusing at first. If you have your mic on (there's phantom power too...nice touch!) coming through your cans, you will have the signal cut by pressing in the 'TO PHONES' pad. The 'MAIN MIX' pad I understand, but there is a designated phones pot, so I was scratching my head for a few minutes thinking 'why?' Again, can be a little confusing, but trial and error...
Secondly, the power switch...there isn't one! Dreadful design, otherwise I would have given it at least 4 starts for 'features.'
All said, if you want a little mixer, which is sturdy, reliable and will give you some flexibility before you go into the PC or laptop, you won't find a better deal. I've seen so many YouTubers using expensive audio interfaces just to do vlogs, and having bought this Q502, I keep thinking....why did they waste their money - this will do exactly the same job, and at a fraction of the price.
All in all, a very pleasing purchase.
Mixer is okay - audio interface not so good.
This mixer is good for beginner and Dj or Karaoke singer. Audio interface is not good for recording.
Works as expected
Use it at home, to mix the guitar (via boss gt-1000) with Spotify, and listen via headphones. Great for playing silent at late hours, while still have tons of fun!
If it would break, I’d buy it again.

So, some words about this little thing.
Worked in one go and seems sturdy enough. Most features are as expected.. Audio in/out to PC worked well.
But one thing that did not match ye olde expectations, was the mic preamp. Irony, as I was testing with a behringer microphone (something or other).
Did not get it to usable levels for the application we had in mind. Had to fall back to a dedicated USB PC mic.
Might need some more testing.
...
There will be nothing better than this price.
Worth it!
Definitely happy with my choice! The features and the quality it gives you is totally more than enough for what you pay. I am powering my mic, with it and also use it as an interface for my electric guitars and of course audio monitors. If you want to start with a small mixer/interface at your home studio, this is definitely is the best choice.
Wonderfull Allrounder
Very Useful,
First I Bought this Mixer to record my Electric Guitar, just wanted something simple, and it soon became a permanent fixture to my PC setup
Picked up an old Sennhiser ME35 and Stem I got some head phones and It became a my home office for doing VOIP calls,
Then I wanted to record some old Tapes not a bother.
It's been bashed around in and out off my bag.
It got used in events when a customer was looking to do some streaming, and I needed a clean supply from a Laptop with a Noisey PSU, not a bother.
I'm very happy with this Little Mixer.
good choice for being used both live as local mini-mixer and as audio card connected to your PC for setting your music.
Easy to set up. Great value for money
Great little box
Worked as expected. Easy to install and to record.
EDIT: After 3 months of use the power cord, without any movement, now leaks some kind of voltage to the sound board and I get some random CLACKS on the sound tracks, unacceptable.
Good for home use
This mixer is good for use at home, has many utilities and can connect guitars and microphones. His problem is noise. It transmits a small noise, which bothers to those who are accustomed to a very clean sound. It is easy to transport. And you do not need anything else, just connect to the computer and it's working!
Good for amateur studio recording.
As I wrote in the title, it's good if you're an amateur, hobbyist, or even want to dip your toe in the studio world.
Beside for using it for recording, you can be creative with it. I use it for playing music over my turn table and skyping. It's practical to have a mixer to quickly regulate the volume.
The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't have an on and off switch. Seriously Behringer?
If you're a bit more serious about studio recording, you might want to pick another mixer. For me it's great!
Nice little mixer!
Very pleased with this small mixer - used for vocals only so far.
Great little mixer!
I use this at home for recording. I have used it with vocal mic, electric drum kits, guitars, and bass to record each track using the USB function. Awesome little piece of kit!
Good for home / Ev için ideal
I use for turntables and computer. It isnt high quality for recording but enough for me.
Ben bilgisayarim ve pikaplarim için kullai?yorum. Kayit için kaliteli diyemem ama benim için ideal.
Great budget end piece of kit!
I've seen some bad reviews for this but these seem to be from people looking for an all singing, all dancing, full featured mixer. Which, while this isn't one by any means, it is a great piece of kit for the price.
I personally use it to record vocal tracks for transport announcements which it is great for, easy to set up and get good levels, and most importantly there's very little noise when used with a good quality mic. Also the built in EQ and compressor are basic but very easy to use, a newcomer to home recording could easily pick it up and use it to greater effect than a complicated VST plug-in.
In all, if you are after a high tech mixer this is probably not for you but if you are a seasoned pro looking for a small, cheap mixer or just someone wanting to try recording for the first time I'd recommend this product.
Very good little mixer
Bought this mixer for recording one guitar and one microphone. The product works well, is very simple and affordable.
Can easily be integrated with Audacity for example and the USB interface makes the product ideal for small home recording.
I chose this mixer as it did not need any additional equipment to do home digital recording to the computer. was really impressed with the quality of the build, when you pick up the unit it seems bulk, the knobs turn really easy and seem to be of quality build.
Overall a very good little USB mixer for artists that want Behringer quality at a very affordable price.
Good and durable analogue mixer for home use and portable needs
Handling: As this is analogue mixer it's handling is very easy. It works "you get what you see" way. Balance triggers could easily stick to middle. Plugging it to PC works straight ahead without need of additional drivers.
Features: Main feature of this cheap mixer is USB of course. It works quite good. I wish there would be feature, which would allow me to send sound from USB to headphones only WITH sound of guitar, but send guitar ONLY sound to USB, so I could record pure guitar sound but still have backing track in my headphones. I was thinking of giving 3 stars for features, but though it will be unfair because of it's small form factor.
Sound: After playing a bit setting on my PC, mixer and effect pedal I got very good sound on my recording though USB. Guitar sound is rich and decent for home recording. However, when I am using it for recording my bass guitar I missing some very deep notes that I could hear only in my headphones. Like some deep barely noticeable reverb.
Quality: I am actually VERY impressed with it's quality. It is much cheaper than my two others guitars processors, but this mixer build quality is so much better. It is made of two steel metal sheets and feels very durable and brick-like. All knobs and triggers also feels very durable. Seriously, if there would fire in my house and I have to escape through window, this mixer would be first candidate to break glass with. It is heavy, but still good to be portable solution due to it's small size.
does the job
Very simple and very effective. I used it to quickly record my voice or guitar to the pc. I wouldn't use it in the studio, but I might end up using it live in line with my Jamman. I miss that it hasn't got an effect send, so have a think whether you need that.
