Great home mixer

I purchased the behringer xenyx as my very first mixer. I wanted to start basic home recording. After a bit of research this seemed like a good choice.

It was not extortionately expensive and had more than enough features for basic home use.

I received this mixer within a few days of placing the order. It came boxed in offcial packaging, upon opening of this, I was presented with the mixer itself. It is very small and compact but this does not mean it lacks features.

Mixer feels sturdy and build quality does seem very high. This is also easy to use, I myself have no previous experience with mixing but I was able to work out how to use this mixer very quickly. It has multiple channels which are more than enough for home recording.

This is also a USB mixer which is a great feature meaning that all my recordings are easily transferable to my computer.

I recommend this mixer to anyone looking to start home recording and without a large budget to spend.

Fantastic piece of equipment

Bargain too.

Plug'n'play under Linux. I was a little skeptical about all the glowing reports of this series of mixers, am not a fan of USB in general and didn't need a bells'n'whistles console. Just something to mic a guitar cab, add a vocal mic, DI some bass etc etc.

Does the job above my expectations. The USB sound card was instantly recognised and appears to have zero issues co-existing with the onboard sound card. The scales fell from my eyes. Within minutes, I was into audacity and recording. Construction wise, it is more than adequate and I see no reason for it to fail. The PSU brick is a little noisy. Not via the mixer, but it does induce noise into the chain if it is too close to guitar leads. Doesn't make a jot of noise if kept a few inches away though.

For a home recorder, it's good. None of this 'for the money' nonesense, it is a good unit.

Mic preamps are effective, the eq has more than enough scope to cope, the compressors are not awful. In fact, they're quite subtle. This is good. It may not pass muster for everyone, but for me, it does all I need.

For a band on a budget or for getting ideas recorded quickly, top marks.

Great little mixer

I purchased this mixer for home usage with a mic, acoustic guitar and aux sound and headphones for fine tuning of songs. Works perfectly. I had a concerned about the level of white noise, but with my setup this mixer have non. Good value for money.
