Flexible inexpensive mixer

At this price you can't beat it. That's not to say it's cheap. Really well designed giving you many routing options and ergonomic layout.

The sound quality and feel is great. I use it as a line mixer. The EQ does the job. The FX are not great but will save the day in a live gig situation.

High quality construction, I use for live concert mixing, not too heavy to carry around. Use with Alto active speakers (already reviewed). Fairly easy to understand and good user manual. Currently used for voice (3mics) and miked bass drum/high hat. Lots of effects/channel options. V.clean o/put. Not expensive for quality.

Behringer Xenyx X1832USB

fully satisfies the needs of a small band for studio and live performances

I inserted this into a 19" rack with crossover and amplifiers after this mixer.

Love the feedback detection feature.

Love built-in FX engine which is mainly used for voice.

Use submix for recording additional tracks into your project: main mix containing the music you play goes from the mixer to comp via USB port. Existing tracks go from the comp into the mixer via external sound card. the signal from the comp can be mixed with what you play and channeled into submix which will only play in your headphones, but main mix will only have the signal you produce - and this can be simultaneously recorded into your project as additional track. very convenient.

Absolutely idea for home studio, flexible and capable

I've used Behringer mixers before and this was an upgrade for me to use with a DAW, recording against backing tracks and my own tracks. I needed something which could not only accommodate sends and returns for pedal stuff but also something I could export and use into iPads, etc. I needed a good range of input and output options with plenty of channels. I also use different monitoring options and external studio speakers so for a home studio mixer that won't break the bank, this ticked all the boxes.

By directing channels to a sub mix you get very good control over the mix and although I don't use a lot of effects and like to have total control over them, the built-in effects are very good. You can't apply separate effects to individual channels but you can control how much of that effect is applied. With a combination of send and return loops, the built-in effects and the use of the sub-mix, you have a great deal of flexibility and control. I haven't yet found something I wanted to be able to do but couldn't with this mixer. I'm not a pro running a professional studio but a seasoned amateur and this kit is ideal for my various needs.

On the back you can take line-level output from XLR stereo, or the sub mix output from jacks, or the control room outs from RCA, or the main outs from jacks, a very flexible selection available. Monitoring is easy through studio speakers or phones. To convert the line-level output from the mixer into an iPad I had to use another cheap little Behringer gizmo, a U-Control UCA222, also available from here. It sorts the line levels.

It's easy to mix output from the USB from your recording software with overdubbing another track and I've had no problems with latency. Sometimes latency is down to the computer driver and I've only used this on a Mac which doesn't need a separate driver so it's worth checking if there are latency problems related to this mixer on Windows. I did a brief check and didn't see any that seemed to implicate the mixer so it sounds pretty safe latency-wise.

I've used it for a couple of months now every day and I'm very pleased with the flexibility, the quality of the sound, the ease of use, It's not the cheapest mixer around but for this money, it's very hard to match the features and quality with anything close. Highly recommended.

Great Product overall - Studio/Live

Use

I?m using the BX1832 for 2 uses one for live sound for small venues where it works perfectly it?s simple, portable and never fails me.

The second use is for a small studio I own while using it with an audio interface and I have to tell you the combination beetween the 2 is amazing.

P& C

Well it's only problem is that even tough it's able to connect with an USB it doesn?t split all the available channels but hey it's not a DAW .

I choose this model for many reasons but again beeing small, easy to use and afordable it?s a great product for you guys who are starting

Review Behringer Xenyx X1832 usb

This is perfect choice for a perfect price. I am working with this Behringer Xenix already for 4 years without any errors. Perfect control, easy to understand knobs, many options. Built in effects is really big plus - as for microphones as for guitar. This can be used in home as mixer for little studio because of USB - just plug in PC and it is automatically found. 4 band eq is perfect. Perfect 220V cable - not little charger with stupid fragile ending like for old mixer models. Thanks for my colleague for recommendation - he is working with Behringer already for 11 years without any problems and I am satisfied too.

outstanding robust mixer

I have a few of these behringer x1832 mixers and they are without a doubt one of the best budget mixers on the market. fantastic effects which sadly i have to say are far superior to behringers newer mixers. i have never had any problems slides are always very smooth great having the equaliser as well. i use these mixers for cabaret, disco, and karaoke, there is no lack of microphone channels and everyone always compliments how good we sound.

Mixer

I bought this mixer to use it like a usb interface to record drums but then I realized that I can record only 2 analog signals to PC. I was not satisfied about this. By the way, mixer is really great in quallity and features. A lot of sound effects can give the best results of your show. 6 phantom's I think is enaugh and all 12 channels works great! Maby package for this desk is not comfortable.

Behringer Xenyx X1832 USB

what can i say about this desk? BUY IT!!!! buy it now and you wont regret it. it is simply amazing. the preamps for the microphones are just top notch and have not let me down in all my years of using it. I use it for recording. i use it for live bands, i use it for djing and karaoke. it is a workhorse.

the eqs are so versatile. running live sound can often be a challenge but this desk was more than up to it. i am able to control exactly how hum ew i need on each channel subtly unlike some other desks i have used.

the dsp effects engine is top of the range with editable parameters and assignable effects. its usb functionality allow me to use my laptop direct into the desk so im not taking up a channel that could be used for something else. it has a superb range of features that you have to see to believe. i could go on all night but i wont as i dont want to bore you so i'll just say this again buy it and you'll understand. 100 out of 10 guys

Served me well!

A very good mixer to use for small shows. Four stereo channels is a bit excessive in my opinion, I would be happy with one and have 3 extra mic inputs!

Behringer Xenyx

This is by far one of the better desks that I have owned over the years. It is content rich in every sense of the word and is extremely easy to use. Every thing is colour coded for added ease of use. Also comes with 19" Rack mounts which is an added bonus.

Ideal mixer for a DJ setup. Well worth it.

Excellent

Good little desk, does what it says on the tin. I would like to see Behringer incorporate twin effects on more of their small desks as per the pmp6000.
