Amazing sound not so comfortable

I'm in love with the sound of these headphones but the clamping force makes it very uncomfortable to be wearing for long periods.

Super comfy but too much treble

For music it is fine and the comfort and build quality is amazing, however for guitar playing the treble is too much, used it with an iridium and there is a very sibilant top end that cant be simply dialed out without affecting the overall tone.

Great sound, not so great headband

The soundstage of these headphones is awesome and overall quality is great.

The earpads are super comfortable but unfortunately the headband is not the same for me, it hurts over the head after few minutes and I really wish they made it a lot fluffier.

Do not confuse its accuracy in the lower and mid frequencies with other headphones. It gives very effective results. higher frequencies are higher than other models. a lifetime earphone that can continue to be a reference for you if you work with it knowing this.

Perfect Pair for mixing and mastering

I have used many headphones in the past of different brands, but once I bought them, I was truly in love with the sound stage it provided. Truly impeccable for mixing and mastering purposes. You can hear a lot of the frequencies and it really helps you in isolating your sound. I really recommend these to anyone who wants to get into the mixing and mastering process. It provides great bass response too. You will not be disappointed.

Best value for your money

There is no other headphone in this price range with this level of accuracy. Should you wonder if your money may be better spent elsewhere: Stop. It wouldn't.

It's slightly bass heavy, its clarity at higher frequencies can sound a bit harsh, and it doesn't deal well with "f*ck this day"-level of sound pressure, but unless you're willing to fork out way more cash, you're not gonna find anything "better".

Should you be wondering if the DT-1990 is worth the upgrade: Depends. Its main advantage is its tolerance of higher input levels. According to physical comparisons, it's slightly more accurate, but the difference escapes my ears at least. But within the price range of the DT-1990, there are other cans deserving serious consideration. At the cost of the DT-990, there is no equal.

beyerdynamic DT-990 Edition 250 Ohms

I am happy from the performance. But I am curious about DT-880 and DT-770 models. I wonder what are the differences.

Very comfortable headphones

DT-990 is very comfortable and very light, for someone it might be too light as you don't almost feel it on your head. As an open ear headphone, you will hear everything from outside and everyone around you will hear what do you listen to. Sound is pleasant and nice, the highs are very clear but for my taste they feel they are boosted. And I don't feel that the bass is powerful at all. Positioning is great thanks to open ear design, you will enjoy listening to a well mixed orchestral piece. The stereo width is really big - hell they are quiet good for gaming! All in all, I recommend this mainly for listening of classical and contemporary pieces.

Gadget for eargasm

The title should say it all. For a price tag of 180 euro, this is the best pair of headphones in the world. Just two words of caution, 1. 250 Ohm version requires an amplifier or powerful source to drive, you'll be disappointed with the volume level if you plug them into your mobile or ipod nano. 2. This is an open back headphone so don't expect any noise isolation but the real life like clarity and openness that you'll get from this headphone is just unparalleled, no closed back hp can even come closer on this aspect.

Best headphones for listening to music?

Only downside is they NEED an amplifier. These will not sound that well connected to a mobile, but they are the most comfortable headphones (I've got sensitive ears) I've ever used.

Sound is full and amazing. So if you're in the look for some great phones for gaming/music listening etc. look no further. You just found the best ones.

If you want monitoring phones I'd recommend the "normal" DT-990's as that's what they're made for.
