Great measurement mic
There's not much to say about it, it's a great measurement mic.
Works without any issues, got the calibration file from beyerdynamic directly after emailing them the serial number, feels well built and it can also be used at a regular omni mic in a pinch.
Excellent for almost any usecase!
The MM1 is built quite lovely, but the OD of ~9.3mm in my case is a bit impractical as most calibrators use 1/4in or 1/2in, but there are adapters available. Not here, though.
The microphone has some additional gain at high frequencies, one can call it diffuse-field equalized. This is easily "solved" for free-field measurements with the correction curves from beyerdynamic, which you get by emailing them.
Keep in mind they might take their time, so do it as soon as you receive your MM1.
Does the job intended and is built well
I bought this mic for eqing rooms and to have an RTA running throughout my shows to keep an eye on what's going on. It does exactly that and seems to be built very well.
Emailing Beyerdynamic and asking for the mics personal calibration file was also quick and easy.
Does the job
It does the job of finding time and being able to align a PA according to it.
Great mic not only for measurments.
Good for what it was build for, but can be used as an omni mic for recordings.
Doesn't sound anything out of this world, but certainly can be used as an option for a room mic or similar.
very happy
I had already a good sound in my room, but after using this mic in combination with sonarworks, the clarify become excellent.
I decided to buy this one instead of the original sonar works because I thought a more expensive mic will works better, and YES, actually It does.
Amazing quality
I have bought two of MM1 in 2018,and now I buy new three. When I received package, the new three MM1 looked different with the old two,Suddenly I worried. But I use smaart transfer function to measure them, they are almost the same!Highly recommended!
Works perfectly, and includes a calibration curve
I wanted something better than the Behringer measurement mic, so bought this. Very glad I did.
I design and build my own PA speakers, so having a reliable measurement mic is essential. My experience with Beyerdynamic has been consistently excellent, and the MM1 is no different.
Yes, it's fairly expensive, but it allows you to get the best out of your speakers and amps, which certainly cost a lot more!
For live applications
I've been using this microphone to time align various speakers when doing small/medium theater shows.
It has a little boost on the high frequencies but nothing too serious just maybe 2 to 2.5db that can easily corrected by getting the Calibration File of the microphone by sending an email to beyerdynamic.
Relation price-performance is great!
Great microphone
the results are appropriate to expectations. it does its job
perfectly
