Great tones, but why the awkwardly placed DC power inlet?

Works really well in tandem with a tube screamer to bring in some dark lower end tones and well rounded distortion. I have had multiple occasions however at a gig where my patch cable has moved and kicked out the power cable because it is placed awkwardly DIRECTLY below the input. The DC power inlet it is also in-set so that the connected power lead has "give" and this is a recipe for problems. I cannot understand the thinking behind this issue, but it sounds great.
