Bogner La Grange Overdrive Pedal Reviews
Marshall amp emulator
La Grange is able to pull off soooo many tones. ZZ Top, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, The Who, Jimi Hendrix.... You name it!
Aside from the traditional set of Volume, Tone, and Gain controls, the La Grange features a slew of unique knobs and switches that further enhance the pedal’s abilities. You can shape your tone in so many ways. In addition it has Boost knob which can work independently from the pedal’s coloring, meaning you can use it as a pure, clean boost if you wish.
Sturdy build, it should easily last years of consistent use.
Only downside is size. It occupies a lot of space on the pedalboard.
Great sound, terrible experience.
Sounds incredible, great features. Except the one I received was very obviously used with scratches and chewed up screws half holding it together. The footswitches made so much noise it was unusable. Eventually it just stopped working altogether so it was returned. Which is a story in itself. A massive shame as it sounded fabulous.
My best pedal!!!
Amazing tone, amazing versatility, amazing sensitivity!!! I even stopped using tubescreamers with my single coils, just put the low gain setting and the tone is mind blowing!!! As for humbuckers, well let's just call it rock 'n' roll heaven!!!
Not for all guitars
Excellent build quality. Nice suite of features too. The only problem is that it doesn't like Jazzmasters that much. Humbuckers are where it shines.
best marshall-like overdrive ever.
Good, thick drive
Not sure if this is plexi-ish or what, but the Bogner LaGrange is a neat, thick drive pedal. Tonal options in abundance. Build quality high. Boost is clean, a bump in volume, not in gain. The highest gain setting gets rather noisy on idle hum, but I'm doing fine with gain half way on the mid setting anyway. That's about the amp more than the pedal, but LaGrange cleans up very, very well, or at least does not get in the way of your other gear doing that. Keeper, this one.
Excellent Pedal with great 60's sound
It has been years I have been trying to nail 60s plexi sound with more or less luck. This pedal does it perfectly well. Now I tend to use my tube amp (Bogner Alchemist) on the clear channel, with the pedal as preamp, it works perfectly (although Alchemist sound OD is excellent too, but slightly less versatile in comparison). Different options let you modulate in many ways the sound reaching different textures, and different periods (Led zep, ACDC, Clapton, etc.). It responds extremely well to the different output/volume you set on your guitar (Les paul humbucker 59 PAF in my case). Can only recommend it.
Universal Plexi pedal
Low gain/Hi gain ... it doesn't matter. This pedal excels everywhere. Also boosted by overdrive or boost is very nice. I also have to mention good dynamics when using volume pot. Good kauf ;)
Marshall in a box
This is the one I was waiting for as I am doing more rock these days, this pedal is perfect for anything from Paul Kossof sounds, to Billy Gibbons and Van Halen, with lots of tonal variations to go with my 2 amps. Great crunch sounds and with the boost, it just takes this pedal to another level than other plexi pedals. I won't need another plexi pedal now.
Very underrated pedal
Fantastic Pedal. Sounds great in-front of breaking AND clean amps. stacks well with a good fuzz and other drives( you could drive it with another OD or use it infront of another drive pedal too , works great!) COVERS A LOT OF GROUND! great build quality to smallest details,( cool bogner logo on the knobs!) with it did not have a battery in it when sent because it was drained. the separated boost function is gold in itself. VERY pleased with it .
