Great expression pedal

I use this as an expression pedal with line6 POD HD500X. It is very solid and sturdy. Works very well with the POD.

Great volume pedal from Boss.

Most of my pedals are Boss for a reason. They have great sound quality and great durability. The tuner bypass is a handy feature and also the min/max volume setting. Def worth the money :-)

So far so good.

I bought it almost 2 months ago and it works as it should. I find myself really confortable with it. The only thing (I don?t know if its the amp or the pedal) is that when I plug the pedal to the amp it doesn?t allow me to turn the volumen down to zero. Even though I set the minim down to zero, I still hear the guitar.

Durable + Very Responsive

This is definatly one of the better expression/volume pedals on the market for an affordable price, it seems to be right in the middle of everything in terms of price range and for me it works perfectly. I use it with a moog delay as an expression pedal and it accents and manipulates the repetitions of the delay very accuratley sending the delays in subtle at the start to an almost endless cosmic dealy sound. There is a knob on the bottom left of the pedal that you can adjust to have the expression/volume control more or less sensitive. If your are going to use this guy as an expression pedal be sure to have a stereo jack to stereo jack cable, using a normal jack to jack the pedal will only funtion as a volume pedal. As a volume pedal it works great if you want to ad more volume at different sections of a song at a live gig or if your guitar is clean sounding you can sound like a violin. This pedal is passive too so you do not need to plug it in and its built to last.

Great volume pedal

A little costy, compared to other volume pedals, but this pedal is absolutely worth the price. Action and weight have proved almost perfect to me in subtly graduating the volume of my acoustic. Set after effect pedal, directly to the mixer. Never a problem with cables' connection to mixer or to the amplifier. Everything fine. Warmly suggested!

Robust and reliable workhorse

As robust as such device can be, it works perfectly both as a volume pedal or expression pedal when you connect it to any effect which supports EP.

Movement stays smooth but definite enough.

You can connect tuner separately and this is the feature I actually found quite awesome one the times when I was still learning notes of fretboard. You can leave tuner on as you are playing and you will see the note that actually sounds. It is awesome when practicing bending too!

Another useful feature is minimal sound level. It allows you to set how low volume goes where pedal is at zero position.

Quality is unmached and I would guess you can drive a car over this device.

Price to quality gets very good too.

Awesome! It's a tank!

There's not much to say about volume pedals. It does its job greatly. It's all metal, REALLY sturdy. It's BIG! I love it and have no intention to use another volume pedal anytime soon. And I don't see it breaking anytime soon.

Boss Fv-500-H

I originally bought the Boss FV-500-H to use as an expression pedal but later it took over my volume pedal duties on my pedalboard. It's performed very well in both circumstances. It's has a nice action underfoot and is also adjustable. It's is built like a proverbial tank and couldn't imagine it ever malfunctioning. If it were lost I would not hesitate to buy another.

Very big pedal!

This pedal is huge! it is bigger than my crybaby lol. I bought it for my TC Nova System because of the very positive reviews I read and I am pleased with it. It is a bit on the expensive side but it is entirely made of solid metal so it is made to last forever. It is heavy!. You can adjust the feel of the sweep to make it lighter of heavier on the foot. I won't be using it as a volume pedal but I tried it and it works very well. I think if you own a rack based multi effects like the G-major or something like that it would be amazing as a wah controller. I my case the Nova does not have wah effect so I will use it primarily for controlling the whammy effect and sometimes delay feedback. It is extremely responsive once you adjust the feel to your taste and get the hold of it. It also has a tuner out which I think can be useful if you use it as a volume pedal it, I personally won't be using it. All in all I am pleased with this purchase and I would totally recommend it.

The Boss... enough said

Hey, if you don't know how rugged these things are then wait for WW3 to finish and they'll still be around doing expression pedal things for the next wierd generation... they are awesome. Aluminium casing, and useful for a number of different applications. I'm using mine (I have 2) for expression pedals via midi and they have a lovely (adjustable) feel. Just really high end pro kit that will never let you down and you can rely on. Great.

They have a "level" knob on the side which can be a slight pain, because if you use them like I do for "expression pedal" input to a foot controller, it will adjust the maximum and minimum "midi values" you can generate... an easy thing to overlook, however an easy thing to check...

Solidly Built

I bought this to use as an expression pedal with my TCG System.

It also has the advantage that it visually matches the theme.

Works well when connected with an insert cable using the Input & Output Jacks connected to a TRS jack. This gives a higher calibration range of 0-99 than using the TRS jack on the pedal which gives a significantly shorter range.

It also works well as an in-line volume pedal.

The unit is very solidly built & the min volume knob is a useful feature.

Also the pedal movement is adjustable.

It also has an ouptut for a tuner on the side. Rubber feet on the base are easily removed if you wish to attatch velcro to fix it to your pedal board as I did.

Highly recommended.

I bought this to use as an expression pedal mode with my Fractal Axe FX II unit. It worked perfectly straight out of the box, and was very easy to set up. It is suitably well built to withstand being stomped on night after night. Just remember that you will also need a TRS cable when using it as an expression pedal.

It has a tuner out socket and there is adjustable volume control which is very useful for dialing in the taper of the sweep and the size of the pedal allows your foot to rest very comfortably on it, giving you more accurate control for volume swells etc.

Highly recommended.

Fantastic work from Boss as usual!

Its made by Boss so as you can expect its near enough unbreakable. Really impressed with this and a definite improvement on my Ernie Ball Volume pedal that became faulty on a few occasions. The metal enclosure feels really rugged and I have had no issue in using this day after day, it has been faultless. The only minor issue I have encountered has been when using the tuner output, this is a fault that is found in nearly all volume pedals, what you will find is a distinct drop in the treble (top end) of your tone. This can be easily fixed by placing a good quality dedicated buffer after the volume pedal, I personally use a JHS Little Black Buffer but there is loads that would do the job. Another feature I really liked is the ability to change the rigidity of the pedal sweep with a small screw underneath. Excellent buy and something that will last for many year!

Nice quality!

Very good product.I have this on my pedal board. Also it gives me the chance to plug a tuner on it and this is very good! The only negative is that its a too heavy (1,2kg).

Volume and expression pedal, passive, robust.

Excellent volume pedal. The expression socket can be used with a TRS cable, the other sockets work with regular TR guitar cable. Operation of pedal is smooth and adjustable. The overall distance of the pedal movement is huge. Robust and heavy, perfect operation, and does not move about on the floor.

Superb!

Reasonably priced and very well made. Aluminum construction means that it's a lot lighter than its size would suggest. Just be aware that it's a large pedal and takes up a lot of space on the pedalboard. Most importantly (for me at least), it has a nice taper that is excellent for doing volume swells, which is not the case with some other pedals. The torque is adjustable as well so you can dial in the 'feel' of the pedal to your liking. The only disadvantage I can think of is that it has a potentiometer inside, which, if you use the pedal frequently, will eventually wear out and will have to be replaced. Potentiometers are also notorious for developing unwanted crackling noises. There are pedals on the market (Morley etc.) that use a light sensor in place of a pot, but the one I tried had a different taper that was too abrupt for my purposes.
