absolutely incredible amp

got this amp to replace my old beginner one and let me tell you, the Boss Katana 50 mk 2 did not disappoint, the featured were incredible, so much choice of different effects and the 5 amp types all sound amazing. Would recommend to anyone looking to buy a relatively cheap amplifier that had lots of amazing features.

Awesome amp, great value!

Can't express how cool is this amp! It does take some time to get used to it and learn how to use it. -1 star for handling since it's not very beginner friendly from the start. However, after you read online, see few videos on how to set up those tones, it's incredibly versatile and awesome quality. Sounds amazing and love those effects! 10/10 stars overall, would definitely recommend

BOSS KATANA 50 MKII

Nothing much to say about this beast. It was my favourite AMP and still is

You can store up to 6 presets for easier moving between each of them. Overall 5/5.

Good at everything but not great at anything.

I'll give this a 4/5 across the board. It does the job, and while it's easier to use and sounds better than some alternatives, it just doesn't sound great. At the edge of breakup it sounds a bit like the distortion is pasted onto the clean sound and high gain is fizzy. I also think it's odd that it doesn't have an FX loop along all other connections.

The value comes from the versatility and the fact that you are able to use it as an USB interface. However, I ended up with having a tube amp and a separate USB interface with VST plugins. While this does what both of my current amps do for less money, I wasn't satisfied.

Your mileage may vary but be wary! And if you can spend the additional money on the 100w version you'll get more headroom and an FX loop. I'd recommend that one over this.

Excellent combo was a success with Rolland!

This combo is well balanced. A large set of effects makes it unrivaled in the market. In conjunction with Xonic Airstep, it becomes absolutely universal for both home and live performances, given that you can control the effects via a smartphone. I was also very surprised by the flexibility of settings, you can make an excellent sound through the control panel and be already satisfied. But they went further and made great software for managing from a computer. With this software, you can do anything, create any sound. This combo is definitely worth the money. The effects sound great, as always with the boss. When you think that this is enough, you discover a huge community where you can share presets, and install new presets in one click.

The only thing worth paying attention to is that the combo is quite loud for, so you should pay attention to this when choosing. Also, there is no stereo support when connecting headphones

the versatility of this combo is really something else. Recommended for newbies starting off, discovering new tones as well as seasoned veterans.

Great for beginner

As a beginner, wanted one piece of equipment for different types of music, Katana was a great choice. Another great thing is 0.5w switch, so you can play without disturbing your neighbors

All round king

Versatile, superb crystal clear clean sounds, loads of effects, lightweight, loud enough to perform with a full band in a pub without putting it through the PA, also just great as a practice amp at home. I personally can't fault it. Best solid state amp I've ever encountered for the money and versatility.

Great amp

Great amp but absolutely have to use Tone studio to get most out of it, and it's a bit complicated

Very good practice amp

This is my second guitar amp and I was very impressed upgrading from the default Harley Benton amp. There are plenty of features and effects to keep you busy and it's an incredibly versatile amp.

Unreal amp

Bought this as an upgrade for my Marshall MG15CF and it's everything I've wanted and more. The amp itself is amazing and the tone studio app really adds more

Good amp

Good amp for a beginner like me. I really like BOSS Tone studio app. It was easy to connect it to my laptop but you will need a printer type usb cable (A-Male to B-Male).

KATANA 50 review

The AMP is solid, firmly build and sounds superb.

The only problem I have is the set up of software, which can be complicated. You also have to invest some hours in learning the software.
